Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dependable part-time nanny to provide daytimecare and companionship for a 10-year-old child with special needs in a supportive home environment. The ideal candidate is nurturing patient and skilled in assisting with evening routines and promoting comfort safety and engagement.
This position is perfect for individuals with experience in pediatric nursing special education or personal caregiving who are seeking a part-time job and enjoy making a meaningful difference in a young persons quality of life. Parents are actively involved and collaborate closely with the caregiver to ensure consistent and person-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Support ADL routines including feeding showering dressing toileting (adolescent is potty trained) positioning and transfers as needed.
- Prepare light snacks as needed.
- Provide companionship and encourage communication and social interaction.
- Provide supervision and ensure safety at all times.
- Maintain a safe clean and organized environment; assist with light household tasks related to the childs care.
- Communicate effectively with parents providing a clear end-of-shift summary or handoff.
Qualifications
Education / Training
- Minimum education: high-school diploma or GED
- Credentials preferred but not limited to: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Experience in Early Childhood or Adolescent Education Developmental Disabilities or a related field.
Prior experience caring for children or adolescents with special needs strongly preferred.
Skills and Attributes
- Experience supporting youth with physical or developmental disabilities.
- Ability to lift or assist up to 45 lbs safely.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Patient calm and compassionate demeanor.
- Open to feedback and committed to collaborative family-centered care.
- Dependable punctual and flexible with scheduling.
- Non-smoker.
Hours
- Part-Time Weekend (PRN)
- Saturday and Sunday: 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
- (Additional hours may become available based on family needs.)
Compensation
- Competitive hourly rate based on experience.
- Pay: $15-$20 per hour
