Job Description:

The Office of Advancement is seeking a dependable and organized Student Assistant to support the Advancement team with general administrative functions. The student will assist with communications event and meeting coordination maintaining records and contact information and special projects that support the Colleges advancement and engagement efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with advisory board engagement communications programming and special projects.
  • Support advisory board member recruitment onboarding communications and recognition activities.
  • Assist with meeting and event planning including scheduling RSVPs agendas meeting materials and event setup and breakdown.
  • Maintain and update alumni constituent and advisory board contact information and mailing lists.
  • Provide general administrative support including meeting minutes mailings filing copying and document preparation.
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
Expected Salary:

$15 - $17 per hour commensurate with experience.

Required Qualifications:
  • Must be enrolled as a University of Florida student and eligible to work on campus.
  • Students are employed on a part-time basis up to 20 hours per week.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule including daytime evening and occasional weekend hours with advance notice.
  • When assigned to an event must be available for the duration of the event including post-event cleanup and breakdown activities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when needed.
Preferred:
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications and Qualtrics.
  • Familiarity with event planning event logistics or venue operations.
  • Ability to learn and operate event technology including microphones projectors and audiovisual equipment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact professionally with a wide variety of constituents and guests.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and work independently on assigned projects.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to customer service.
  • Reliable responsible and dependable work ethic.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 30 pounds and assisting with event setup and breakdown.
