M-F30 hours per week.75 FTESchedule TBDTHE POSITIONEureka Union School District is hiring a Special Education Paraeducator under the supervision of the special and general education staff. An example of duties are:-Providing necessary physical academic and/or emotional support for students with special needs to facilitate success in the least restrictive environment- Paraeducator may be assigned to support more than one student based on student and program needs. - Provides clear directions and consistent discipline according to school or classroom rules uses positive reinforcement for appropriate behavior and assists in providing consequences and alternatives for problem behavior.- Operates a variety of assistive technology and assists students in utilization of specialized equipment to support access to instruction and environment including transporting lifting and/or positioning students in/out of adaptive training by and under supervision of a credentialed school nurse provides specialized physical health care procedures such as catheterization blood glucose monitoring tracheostomy suctioning gastrostomy tube feeding breathing treatment via nebulizer etc. to specific students.
