Job Summary

Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team at Delta Center Elementary as a Special Education ParaEducator. This full-time position plays a vital role in supporting students with diverse learning needs ensuring they have access to a meaningful and inclusive educational experience. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers and other staff to provide individualized assistance promote positive behavior and foster a supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities
- Assist teachers in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students in academic and social skills development.
- Monitor and document student progress behavior and engagement reporting findings to teachers and special education staff.
- Facilitate communication between students teachers and parents to enhance student learning and well-being.
- Support students in daily activities including transitions lunch and recess ensuring a safe and inclusive environment.
- Help prepare instructional materials and adapt resources to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Implement behavioral intervention strategies as directed by the teacher or special education staff.
- Attend staff meetings professional development sessions and training as required.
- Collaborate with other educational professionals including speech therapists occupational therapists and school counselors.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and adhere to school policies and procedures.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in education psychology or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience working with children particularly those with special needs is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students staff and parents.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow directions from teachers and special education professionals.
- Patience empathy and a genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of students with diverse needs.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with educational technology.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Background check clearance as required by school district policy.
