Substitute Intervention Assistants cover in the classroom for regular employees who are out for various addition to standard Intervention Assistant job duties Job duties for Special Education IA substitute positions may include the following:- Assist students with personal hygiene and grooming as required; assist students with eating activities; assist children with toileting diapering and changing those who have experienced toileting accidents; assist students with performing and developing self-help and social skills.- Utilize a variety of assistive devices and mobility related equipment including toileting chairs changing tables visual aids wheelchairs and other related augmentative equipment; assist students with operating assistive technology for student related service equipment; facilitate effective communication for students using assistive language are expected to carry out all of these duties required of them.
