Job Summary

Title:District Campus Special Education BehaviorSpecialist

Classification Title:Behavior Interventionist

Reports to:Special Education Director
Terms of Employment: 183.5 days

Job Summary:
The Behavior Specialist will be responsible for helping to create and implementclassroom management systems and individualized behavior intervention plans for students with disabilities.

Essential Functions:

  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments and/or Analysis
  • Create train and coachsocial skills implementation
  • Lead district efforts to better understand and eventually create trauma informed practices
  • Provide Professional Development to various groups to expand the knowledge ofbehavioral systemsand best practices
  • Engage in observation and feedback cycles regarding BIPs in progress
  • Attend workshops to maintain current knowledge of new legislation and student advocacy service requirements
  • Actively maintain or improve the external and internal image of the District its divisions and its schools
  • Establish annual objectives as deemed appropriate by the supervisor
  • Respond to inquiries or concerns in a timely manner

Education:

  • Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited institution
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) preferred
  • Relevant teaching experience
  • Knowledge of relevant technology
  • School or Clinic experience preferred
