Job Summary:Special Education Aide II assists students with special needs under the direction of a certificated teacher. Aide supports teachers with the needs of students with disabilities. Assist the teacher in daily educational activities assist with physical needs of students. To support student academic and social goals in the classroom communicate with parents/guardians and school staff ensure student safety accompany student/s while transporting students to and from school.(see Job Description)

MINIMUM APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent (GED). Applicants must provide proof of education. The District may require original documents for verification prior to employment. Possession of an Associates Degree or Associate of Science degree or completion of at least 48 college units or passage of the Paraprofessional Test. Applicants must provide appropriate documentation (e.g. transcripts or diploma). Possession of a valid First Aid Card and CPR certificationCertification of completion of CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) Training.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Final employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of all pre-employment requirements and Governing Board approval. These requirements may include fingerprint clearance through the California Department of Justice (DOJ) and when applicable the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) verification of eligibility to work in the United States and possession of a valid California drivers license and proof of insurance when required by the must also provide verification of completion of Child Abuse Mandated Reporter Training or obtain verification within six (6) weeks of hire and complete the training annually thereafter in accordance with the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act.
