Position Overview:
The Department of Healthcare and Family ServicesDivision of Medical Programsseeksa results-oriented professional to serve as theSpecial Assistant for Long Term mission-critical role offers an opportunity to formulate and implement Long Term Services and Supports (LTSS) policyforHFSslong-termcare(LTC)and home andcommunity-basedservices(HCBS)waiverprograms. This position serves as a subject matter expert and willformulateand implement policyfor Illinois HCBS waiver programs skilled nursing facilitiessupportive living facilities the program of all-inclusive care for the elderly (PACE)and otherLTC and community-based LTSSinitiativesin the state. This individual will alsopartner with LTC and HCBS waiverprogram leadership tomonitor and evaluate program outcomes facilitatethe development of new and revised policiesand procedures and collaborate with stakeholders who are invested in community-based comprehensive care in Illinois.

- Serves as the Special Assistant for LTC.
- Monitors and evaluates agency LTC program operations to facilitate the development of new and revised policiesand procedures relative to the attainment of agency goals and objectives.
- Confers with agency administrators to resolve sensitive issues and to improve administrative links between the
Division Administrator and agency staff. - Establishes and implements policies standards and procedural guidelines for LTC program operations.
- Develops establishes and revises departmental policies rules and regulations concerning the LTC program.
- Confers with other administrative personnel regarding problems within the operation of the agencys LTC
program. - Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumeratedabove.
- Requires the completion of four (4) years of college preferably with coursework in public or business administration.
- Requires four (4) four years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization.
- Four (4) years of professional experience formulating and implementing policy for a public or private organization.
- Four (4) years of professional experience working in a long term care program for a public or private organization.
- Four (4) years of professional experience working with healthcare and long term care rules and regulations.
- Four (4) years of professional experience communicating in verbal and written form with internal and external colleaguesand stakeholders.
- At least two (2) years of professional experience working in healthcare setting such as hospital clinic or long term carefacility.
- Advanced degree in public or business administration.
- Requires the ability to pass a background check.
- Requires the ability to travel in the performance of duties with overnight stays as appropriate.
- Overtime is a condition of employment and you may be requested or required/mandated to work overtime includingscheduled unscheduled or last-minute overtime. This requires the ability to work evenings and weekends.
- Requires the ability to utilize and maintain state issued equipment such as a cell phone laptop etc.
