Special Assignment Jazz III (WHS)

Position Criteria:

• Valid State of Iowa teaching license with 5-12 Music endorsement
• Demonstrate aptitude for performing tasks listed
• Must exhibit ethical practices and be a role model to students

Performance Criteria

• Serve as primary director for one co-curricular jazz ensemble
• Assist with auditions for the jazz program
• Schedule rehearsals for a section of jazz band
• Collaborate with band directors to determine the jazz bands calendar of events
• Collaborate with band directors to keep the programs interacting and working together in a positive manner
• Participate in performances and contests as selected and appropriate
• Assist with hosting the Jazz Band competitions
• Coordinate bus/transportation needs
• Assist with set up and clean up after band events
• Communicate with guardians community staff administration and other stakeholders regarding schedules competitions transportation etc.
• Collaborate with facility support staff as needed including Operations and Performing Arts Center Management
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the District
