Solution-Level Software System Engineer

i3 is looking for aSolution-Level Software System Engineerto join our team to support the PAE Fires Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Project Office. The candidate in this role will work with contractors US military government civilians and system operators to develop system-level concepts that provide solutions to problems that often involve various systems from multiple product offices. These concepts define external interfaces outline system behavior performance and acceptance criteria necessary to support HW and SW engineering teams.

• Working as a member of the Solutions System Engineering Team in prioritizing capabilities to be worked in each Program Increment (PI).
• Working with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to better understand the scope of an Initiative/Capability.
• Developing concepts utilizing a Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) approach in an Agile SW workflow and environment.
• Assembling Artifacts and other information into Solutions Initiative Documents (SIDs) as well as Solutions Engineering Documents (SEDs) and refining Jira tickets as necessary.
• Modeling Capability behavior (SV-1 SV-4) using the MagicDraw MBSE tool.
• Creating/modifying existing behavior to include Functions and Data Exchanges/Signals.
• Defining Acceptance Criteria for a Capability and tracing the Acceptance Criteria to behavior in the model.
• Determining the current Capabilities Description Document (CDD) and System Spec requirements being satisfied by the capability and establishing those links in the model.
• Recommending follow-up Feature tickets to be implemented at the Program Level.
• Facilitating/Leading both Internal and Formal Reviews of an Initiative/Capability.
• Adjudicating review comments and transitioning recommended Capabilities/Features to the backlog by drafting Capabilities/Features for implementation using Jira.
• Participating in regularly scheduled team stand-ups as well as Team Planning Retrospectives and Prioritization.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Education/Experience:

• An active Secret security clearance and the ability to maintain.
• A bachelors degree in a STEM field.
• 10 or more years of system engineering or related experience.
• Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
• Proficiency in MagicDraw.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office toolset.
• Experience with Jira and Confluence.
• Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills to effectively interface with various levels of workers/leaders.
• Demonstrated experience working in a collaborative team environment

Preferred Education/Experience:

• A masters degree in systems engineering.
• Previous experience with the Army Air and Missile Defense Command and Control systems such as Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS) Patriot FAAD C2 and ADAM.
• Previous experience with the integration of Command and Control Systems in a System of Systems architecture.

• Regular i3 hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday however additional hours may be required on occasion. Regular and punctual attendance is required.
