Job Summary

We are currently seeking a System Software Verification and Validation Engineer who will be responsible for testing software for highly complex medical devices/instrumentation for IVD Product Development and IVD Product Testing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and execute test protocols to verify requirements and design specifications ensuring conformance to intended use of products.
  • Conduct system-level tests in the lab to determine product feasibility and support product development.
  • Design and conduct reliability lab studies on instruments that run diagnostic assays.
  • Candidate must be physically capable and willing to work in a lab environment 67 hours/day performing system-level manual testing on a complex instrumentation platform.
Required Skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow testing protocols accurately.
  • Hands-on aptitude teamwork and strong documentation skills.
  • Must be willing and able to work onsite in a laboratory environment.
  • Must be willing and able to work the TuesdaySaturday 2:00 PM 11:00 PM shift.
  • Must be willing and able to meet all physical requirements of the position.
Preferred Skills
  • Medical device or IVD testing experience.
  • Diagnostic assay or instrumentation experience.
  • Reliability testing/study experience.
  • Test protocol development experience.
  • System software testing.
  • Experience with regulated verification documentation and requirements traceability.
Education Requirements
  • Masters or Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering Systems Engineering Biomedical Engineering Bioengineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Comparable combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Experience
  • At least one year of system software testing experience.
  • We will accept any suitable education training and/or experience combination.
Work Environment / Physical Requirements
  • Laboratory setting.
  • Candidates must be able to work in a laboratory setting 67 hours per day.
  • Sit; use hands to finger handle or feel objects tools or controls.
  • Stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop kneel crouch or crawl.
  • Lifting/moving and carrying products weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts vibration and/or moderate noise levels.
  • Exposure to hazardous chemicals or other materials.
  • Safety shoes with impact and compression protection must be worn. Closed-toe shoes required.
  • Exposure to blood.
  • Company badge required for site access.
  • Standard onsite parking available.
  • Weekend requirement: Yes Saturday is part of the regular schedule.
