Software Systems Engieer

Peraton is hiring a Software-Systems Engineer for a onsite role in Huntsville AL.

Peraton has a great opportunity to support the Aircraft Survivability Equipment (ASE) program as a Software-Systems Engineer working to help the military with missile detection and evade technology. This role works across several high visibility programs at ASE supporting the software team as a software/system subject matter expert (SME).

What youll do:

• Provide software knowledge and program management support for all ASE products.
• Provide knowledge skills and ability to assist in major efforts in the analysis design development integration training testing documentation implementation operation and support complex systems.
• Provide briefings of software development status.
• Understand system interfaces and external systems interoperability.
• Work with and facilitate Agile SW planning with vendors.
• Review vendor software CDRLs and artifacts (e.g. Software Development Plan requirements design documents and test plans).
• Support design reviews (SRR PDR CDR) as a SW SME for the ASE engineering team.
• Test and verify interoperability between systems.
• Understand software requirements of the system.
• Work with vendors to understand capabilities and performance requirements.
• Analyze user needs and limitations to determine a feasible solution.
• Understand software impact to system use and installation.
• Provide overarching support for the software and product teams.
• Support software growth efforts (FACE MOSA MBSE).
• Resolve highly complex problems using significant application of technical knowledge conceptualizing reasoning and interpretation.

What youll need:

• Education: Minimum of 7 years with AS/AA; 5 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 3 years with MS/MA.
• U.S. Citizenship
• Clearance: Active Secret DoD Clearance.
• Complete understanding of SW Development Life Cycle.
• Ability to read and understand technical documents and drawings.
• Be capable of balancing multiple tasks and priorities.
• Understanding of system software interfaces requirements and interoperating with other systems.
• Fluent in the Microsoft Office toolset.
• Knowledge of Agile SW development methodology

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience working in a DoD acquisition project management office.
• Software or systems design for DoD systems experience
