Responsibilities
- Design implement test deploy and operate largescale distributed backend systems that power AIdriven insights and analytics for Microsoft 365 Copilot and Viva Insights.
- Apply generative AI and ML techniques to deliver intelligent personalized experiences that help customers understand and accelerate their AI transformation.
- Act as an embedded engineer for government cloud environments (GCCHigh / DoD) executing onboarding deployments troubleshooting and operational activities with the same ownership and rigor as Core Services fulltime engineers.
- Build manage and maintain Azure infrastructure across environments including compute networking storage identity certificates and service dependencies while adapting engineering practices to security and complianceconstrained environments.
- Collaborate across disciplines (product platform infrastructure security monitoring compliance) to define technical requirements design robust APIs and unblock crossservice dependenciesparticularly in government cloud scenarios.
- Drive engineering excellence and service reliability through strong design testing observability proactive monitoring and deep diagnostics using logs metrics telemetry and Kusto (KQL).
- Contribute to team culture by mentoring peers sharing knowledge and fostering an inclusive growth-oriented environment.
- Continuously learn and adapt to new technologies patterns and best practices in AI distributed systems and cloud-native development.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2 years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including but not limited to C C C# Java JavaScript or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- 3 years of hands-on software design and coding experience
- Experience applying AI/ML techniques or working with generative AI systems in production environments.
- Familiarity with modern version control systems like Git and agile development methodologies.
- Handson experience with Azure cloud services including compute networking storage identity and resource governance.
- Experience designing and maintaining infrastructureascode (e.g. ARM/Bicep or equivalent) and CI/CD pipelines including YAMLbased build and release definitions deployment automation and troubleshooting deployment failures.
- Experience supporting livesite operations including incident triage root cause analysis and driving issues to resolution.

The successful candidate must have an active U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance. Clearance Verification: This position requires successful verification of the stated security clearance to meet federal government customer requirements. You will be asked to provide clearance verification information prior to an offer of employment.
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Citizenship & Citizenship Verification:This position requires verification of U.S. citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically this position supports United States federal state and/or local United States government agency customer and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. To meet this legal requirement citizenship will be verified via a valid passport or other approved documents or verified US government Clearance
U.S. citizenship required. Role must be eligible to obtain and maintain required U.S. Government personnel screenings including CJIS Security Screening (as applicable) and DoD IT2 suitability for access to GCCHigh and Department of Defense cloud environments. Prior IT2 approval and handson experience supporting GCCHigh or DoD environments are strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience designing and implementing large-scale distributed systems or cloud platforms.
- Solid collaboration and communication skills to work effectively across teams and disciplines.
- Prior experience with GCC GCCHigh DoD clouds or environments with strict compliance auditing or access controls.
- Familiarity with EV2 or similar largescale deployment orchestration systems.

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $102100 - $202200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $133800 - $219200 per year.
