Summary

Join Guidewire as a Software Engineer II Application Platform - AI Services and be part of the team building our next-generation AI platform. This platform provides the essential tools to design AI agents to connect to large language models and manage the knowledge bases that power modern intelligent insurance applications. You will be a contributor on this platform using AI coding tools to build services that power developer experience ensuring quality scalability and security. This is an onsite full-time role based in the United States.

You will contribute to delivering operational excellence and transformative innovation for Guidewires Product Development & Operations (PDO) organization. Our priorities include accelerating AI cloud and data platform adoption and ensuring our solutions deliver measurable value and efficiency for customers. At Guidewire youll contribute to a culture of collaboration continuous improvement and customer-centricity helping transform the way the worlds P&C insurers do business.

Job Description

• Develop and maintain features for Guidewires application platform primarily focusing on backend services.
• Apply agentic coding tools as Guidewire uses them to dramatically accelerate development.
• Write clean well-tested code with attention to quality and security.
• Collaborate with team members to deliver secure scalable and efficient platform operations.
• Participate in code reviews and learn from team best practices.
• At Guidewire we foster a culture of curiosity innovation and responsible use of AIempowering our teams to continuously leverage emerging technologies and data-driven insights to enhance productivity and outcomes.

• 3-5 years of experience in backend software engineering with experience building web services or applications.
• Experience with coding agents and automation tools.
• Familiarity with one of Java JavaScript TypeScript Python with willingness to learn other languages.
• Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs) Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) vector databases (vector DBs) AI agents and Model Context Protocol (MCP).
• Good collaboration and communication skills.
• Familiarity with or willingness to learn Kubernetes and infrastructure as code.
• Demonstrated ability to embrace AI and apply it to your role as well as use data-driven insights to drive innovation productivity and continuous improvement.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $109000 - $186000. Your base pay will depend on your experience skills education training and location among other factors. All full-time positions or part-time roles working 30 hours or more a week at Guidewire are eligible for benefits that support their health and well-being including health dental and vision insurance paid time off and a company sponsored retirement addition some roles may be eligible for the annual company bonus plan commissions and/or long term incentive awards which are contingent on a variety of factors including but not limited to company and employee performance.
