Software Engineer (Front End), Retail and Marcom Engineering

The Direct Marketing Production team in Apples Marcom Platforms u0026 Services (MPu0026S) is responsible for delivering qualitymarketing emails to Apples customers. The team uses an internally developed modular platform to build test localize and ship all of the marketing emails sent to customers ideal candidate is a detail-oriented individual with an ownership mindset and a keen focus on the customer. We value excellent problem-solving communication and technical skills as they are crucial in delivering the consistent high-quality experiences expected of Apple.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Email Developer to act as a technological leader for Apples direct marketing program. This role works closely with Marcom Retail Marketing and internal technical groups at Apple to manage thestandards and practices around email development and to influence the direction of internal email-related tooling. This developer must be comfortable with ambiguity and shifting schedules and be able to provide leadership with limited direction. This person must be able to balance technical and design excellence even in areas where they may conflict.

Interface with designers and developers alike getting stakeholders aligned on what email is capable ofnDrive adoption of the latest standards and techniques in the components that make up our DM development and localization systemsnPropose alternate designs when the ones presented to them do not fit with email clients capabilities or are those of our systemsnExperiment constantly on how to reliably stretch the capabilities of the email platform to its limits

HTML CSS u0026 DM Development: 6-10 years of experience developing direct marketing email platforms with advanced HTML5/CSS knowledge and demonstrated ability to hand-code emails compatible with all major mail clients (OutlookGmail Apple Mail etc.)nJavaScript u0026 API Development: Proficient in JavaScript fundamentals ES6 features and API implementations with strong understanding of email client rendering differencesnBachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field OR equivalent experience.

Independent u0026 Strong Collaborator: Self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills able to work independently while engaging effectively with internal teams and stakeholdersnProven track record of driving efficiency gains streamlining team operations and improving process effectiveness whilemaintaining or increasing platform capabilitiesnStrong architectural decision-making skills with experience introducing new technologies and processes within a teamnExperience with web graphics manipulation CSS/JavaScript animations semantic HTML5 and modular CSS usingmodern layout methodsnExperience with modern JavaScript frameworks (React) NodeJS and package managers (NPM yarn) along withproficiency in functional and object-oriented programming principlesnKnowledge of browser performance optimization security best practices accessibility standards and familiarity withinternational webmail clientsnDemonstrated success in team consolidation efforts while simultaneously increasing platform effectiveness and outputnTrack record of mentoring engineers guiding requests to completion and fostering positive team environments through constructive feedbacknStrong presentation and negotiation skills with proven ability to build robust client and cross-functional relationships
