Software Engineer
Blue Ridge Dynamics is seeking a Software Engineer to design build and support the services APIs databases and integrations that power modern web applications.
The ideal candidate has experience developing production backend systems using TypeScript and PostgreSQL. You will work closely with frontend developers designers technical leads and project managers to deliver secure reliable and maintainable software solutions.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend applications and services using and TypeScript.
- Design and build secure RESTful APIs.
- Create and maintain database schemas queries migrations and data-access patterns.
- Integrate applications with external systems data repositories cloud services and third-party APIs.
- Implement authentication authorization and secure data-handling practices.
- Write clean tested and well-documented code.
- Troubleshoot application database performance and integration issues.
- Support Docker-based development CI/CD pipelines and application deployments.
- Participate in architecture discussions code reviews and Agile development activities.
Required Qualifications
- At least two years of professional backend development experience.
- Strong experience with JavaScript or TypeScript and .
- Experience with frameworks such as NestJS Fastify or Express.
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
- Experience with PostgreSQL MySQL or another relational database.
- Understanding of database design indexing transactions and query optimization.
- Experience with Git automated testing debugging and secure coding practices.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with TypeScript NestJS Fastify PostgreSQL or Drizzle ORM.
- Experience with Docker Kubernetes AWS Azure or Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with OAuth 2.0 OpenID Connect JWT and role-based access control.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines object storage microservices background processing or offline data synchronization.
- Experience supporting applications in government restricted or disconnected environments.
