Software DeveloperA&A Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Software Developer with expertise in secure software engineering and Assessment and Authorization (A&A) processes. The candidate will develop secure applications conduct security assessments and support A&A efforts in an Agile environment collaborating with cross-functional teams to safeguard customer assets.

The team primarily develops in C# . Candidates with strong experience in Java or another object-oriented programming language are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate should be able to become productive in C# within the first several months.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design develop test deploy and maintain enterprise applications and services.
• Develop readable maintainable and secure software.
• Troubleshoot application defects and production issues.
• Review code and contribute to technical design decisions.
• Work with customers and team members to clarify requirements.
• Maintain technical documentation.
• Participate in planning code reviews testing and software releases.
• Support and improve existing applications including legacy systems.
• Complete security-relevant A&A tasks such as risk assessments vulnerability management security control testing and preparing authorization packages.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 6 years of professional software development experience with at least 2 years focused on security engineering and A&A processes.
• Bachelors degree in a related technical field or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong proficiency in an object-oriented programming language such as C# Java Kotlin or C.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design data structures algorithms and common software design patterns.
• Experience developing and supporting business or enterprise applications.
• Experience with source control code reviews testing debugging and the Software Development Lifecycle
• Experience working with relational databases web services or application integrations.
• Ability to learn new programming languages frameworks and systems.
• Knowledge of A&A processes including identifying and addressing security incidents and compliance issues.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with C# .
• Experience with PowerShell or another scripting language.
• Experience developing web APIs Windows services desktop applications or web applications.
• Experience with Microsoft Windows and IIS environments.
• Experience with Jenkins CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
• Experience working with AWS and Azure
• Experience using GitHub Jira Jenkins and Confluence
• Familiarity with secure software development practices.
• Familiarity with Agile development methods.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and AI-enabled application capabilities including the secure use and validation of generated code and content.

• The expected salary range within the Washington DC metropolitan area is: $145000 - 170000. Final compensation is unique to each individual and will be determined based on factors such as experience education geographic location and contractual requirements. This is not a guarantee.
