Software & Controls Engineer

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Software & Controls Engineer in Santa Rosa California for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will develop and support software and control systems used in automated manufacturing and test equipment with a focus on PLC programming controls troubleshooting equipment upgrades and manufacturing-system reliability.

• 12 years of experience with PLC programming industrial automation or control-system support.
• Experience with Siemens TIA Portal Allen-Bradley RSLogix GE Fanuc LogicMaster or similar PLC platforms.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical controls instrumentation sensors actuators motor controls or electromechanical equipment.
• Ability to read electrical schematics wiring diagrams I/O lists control drawings and mechanical drawings.
• Experience developing modifying testing or debugging software used to control automated equipment.
• Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation wiring diagrams equipment configurations and software revisions.

• Experience with Studio 5000.
• LabVIEW programming experience.
• Industrial wiring and control-panel experience.
• Experience reverse engineering legacy control systems and mapping I/O.
• Experience with equipment upgrades software migration hardware obsolescence or manufacturing data systems.
• Experience with relational databases or formal change-control processes.

• Develop modify test and support software and control systems for automated manufacturing equipment.
• Program and troubleshoot PLC logic operator interfaces sensors actuators and equipment communications.
• Support root-cause investigations and corrective actions for equipment issues.
• Update wiring diagrams I/O maps signal-flow documentation and as-built records.
• Support hardware upgrades software migrations equipment commissioning and production release.
• Work with Engineering Maintenance and Production teams to improve equipment reliability and performance.

• $48.00$55.00 per hour.
