Summary:
We are looking for a highly capable SIU Analyst to serve in a support role for our investigative teams in both Argo and Farm Family on basic and major investigations. We are looking for a candidate to fill this position from our Omaha office. This position reports to the Director SIU & Compliance in Richmond VA.
This is a 100% in-office position. Candidates must be able to work on-site at a designated company office during standard business hours.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Working under technical direction applies established investigative methodologies and analytical techniques to support the identification investigation and deterrence of suspected instances of insurance fraud under both the Argo and Farm Family brands in both claims and underwriting.
- Conducts ISO searches background checks social media investigations and other research activities as directed by the SIU teams of Argo and Farm Family.
- Ensures data is updated and maintained in claims and SIU source systems to support investigative efforts and accurate case documentation.
- Analyzes social media results public records and other intelligence sources to determine whether claimant activities employment status or reported losses are consistent with claim presentations.
- Initiates proactive data investigations and identifies emerging fraud patterns organized fraud rings repeat exposure trends and other indicators of potentially fraudulent activity.
- Assists SIU investigators in both Argo and Farm Family throughout the investigative lifecycle by gathering organizing and analyzing information from multiple data sources.
- Performs audits and reviews as requested by SIU leadership to ensure compliance with fraud identification procedures red flag requirements and investigative best practices.
- Applies knowledge of Property & Casualty Workers Compensation and other commercial insurance industry services and processes in support of fraud investigations.
- Collaborates with claims underwriting legal and SIU team members to support investigations and fraud prevention initiatives.
- Assists with the development enhancement and utilization of case management platforms investigative tools and data modeling capabilities.
- Effectively communicates with the SIU team on general observations and provides ongoing feedback on fraud trends developments and investigative opportunities.
- Assists with fraud awareness training for claims and underwriting staff and serves as a resource for fraud detection and referral processes.
- Demonstrates initiative in identifying more effective investigative tools technologies workflows and analytical techniques.
- Ensures the confidentiality and security of sensitive information throughout the investigative process.
Qualifications / Experience Required:
- A practical knowledge of SIU claims as well as an exceptional customer service focus typically achieved through:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited university required.
- A Certified Insurance Fraud Investigator (CIFI) designation plus one other industry designation (such as CIFA CIFR AIC or CPCU or four additional years of related experience beyond the minimum experience required above may be substituted in lieu of a degree. Must be licensed or have the ability to quickly obtain a license within one year.
- A minimum two (2) years of practical knowledge of SIU investigations fraud detection techniques and investigative analytics
- Must have good business acumen (i.e. understand how an insurance company works and makes money including how this role impacts both Clearbrooks and our customers ability to be profitable).
- Ability to regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance. This role primarily faces problems and issues that are generally not complex but require an understanding of a broader set of issues.
