This position works directly on-site at the clients facility to maintain the flow of goods shipping out of the plant ensuring that both internal and external customer demands are fulfilled timely compliantly and completed according to standard processes and client Details:Location: Pasadena TX (100% on-site)Work Schedule:40 hours Monday-Friday (Some weekend / after-hours support / on-call rotation required)Work Hours: 10:00 AM to 7:00 PMPosition/Classification:Full-Time; Salaried Exempt; Associate levelCompensation:$48000-$50000 Annually; Weekend/after-hours bonus opportunitiesPhysical Demands: Standing typing and long walks around warehouse. Picking up sliding or wheeling packages up to 150 Environment:Loud warehouse environment steel-toed boots will be necessary (a stipend will be provided for new ones).Drug Free Workplace and Equal Opportunity EmployerBenefits:Medical dental vision basic life (paid for by Allyn) voluntary life STD (paid for by Allyn) LTD 401k with Company Match Paid Vacation Paid Sick Time Paid Holidays and more!Required Experience and Education:Warehouse or shipping experience requiredSAP Experience preferredIdeal candidates will be able to:Resolve client and carrier issues with easeDemonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skillsHave high proficiency with Microsoft ExcelAnalyze data to improve processes within the warehouseResponsibilities:Route and track all outbound cargo in accordance with customer requirements including parcel LTL FTL Air and Ocean cargoProvide contract or spot quote costs for outbound international and/or domestic ordersCommunicate with shippers brokers customers etc. as needed to facilitate the routing process and minimize the risk of issues and delaysResolve international and domestic shipping issues and ensure appropriate client contacts are informed of any shipment issuesCoordinate and support export documentation filing and processing as needed such as for certificates of origin customs invoices packing lists and AES fillingsInterface regularly with client designated Logistics Execution Center (LEC) and use client designated TMS systemsReview customers purchase order (PO) to ensure Incoterms are correct as well as end-user information pricing ship to a bill to all picks have the correct ship to serial numbers (if needed) and shipment method; print packing slips as neededSend pre-alerts with all customs documents to the customer clients Customer Service Representative and/or Accounting as neededCoordinate with the customers freight forwarders to arrange pick up of goods or to arrange other shipping instructionsClose all shipments in SAP with tracking and/or freight costVerify that all shipments scheduled for pickup have left the facility; report discrepanciesComply with agreed-upon document retention proceduresActively look for and capture savings and added-value opportunities when possibleCoverage for each shift of the shipping department during service availability hoursSupport the training of new employees as neededOur clients range from small local businesses to Fortune 500 firms in industry sectors such as power generation and renewable energy road construction equipment electronics industrial materials heavy duty trucks mining and drilling equipment oil and gas modular building medical equipment not for profit and US government.
