JOB SUMMARY: The person who occupies this position is responsible for coordinating distributing and maintaining all inbound and outbound freight while maintaining a clean and safe working environment. To coordinate for on-time delivery to all customers by looking ahead with customer service and production by arranging carriers for pick up. The persons role is to exceed customer expectations and align with GPI business cultural financial and operational objectives.

JOB FUNCTIONS: The following is a list of specific duties which are considered the essential functions of this job. The list is not exhaustive as all positions at the Company are dynamic. The employee who occupies this position is expected to assume any/all duties assigned by management irrespective of whether such duties are specifically included in this list.

• Work within and adhere to GPIs core values of Integrity Respect Accountability Relationships and Teamwork.
• Responsible for compliance with all facility product safety (GMPs)/Sanitation policies and procedures. Employee must continually work to promote the orderliness and cleanliness of their work area.
• Coordinate outgoing customer shipment requirements with customer service personnel.
• Set up appropriate truck lines to carry shipments and use Allen Lund freight plan. Communicate pertinent information to carrier.
• Responsible for on-time pickup and delivery of product while minimizing detention though up to date and accurate load planning.
• Maintain accurate freight rate information using Allen Lund freight plan.
• Complete manifest and bill of lading information to support shipment. Shipping clerk must sign bill of lading and obtain drivers signature on bill of lading. Understand and use T-Box pick ticket etc.
• Coordinate with finishing supervisor and scheduler for items in process that are needed for shipment.
• Review all incoming board and corrugated shipment paperwork. Complete internal receiving function and supply paperwork to front office.
• Spot trailers
• Prepare warehouse for physical inventory;
• Participates in periodic carrier service reviews; measures and collects data and prepares performance reports conducts cycle counts and audits shipping documents to insure proper invoicing.
• Insure all outgoing loads are clean. Blow dust off loads.
• Prepare and inspect all loads to customer specifications for outbound freight including banding and stretch wrapping.
• Maintain a clean orderly and safe environment in the warehouse.
• Consistent and prompt attendance is required in this position.
• Other duties as assigned.

BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:

• Manufacturing experience preferred
• Mechanical/technical aptitude
• Entry Level Computer skills
• Must have Feeder/Operator experience.
• Must be flexible: Able to work all shifts overtime and weekends when needed.
• Must be able to speak read and write English. Need to have basic math skills. Mechanical aptitude a plus. Must have working knowledge of a printing press.

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:

• Schedules are up to 8 or 12-hour shifts on alternate days with rotating weekends off. However employees must have the ability to work alternate schedules and overtime that may include early mornings nights and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.
• Some Departments/Jobs may run a M-F 8-hour Shift Schedule.
• Must be willing and able to work overtime.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Sitting or standing depending on changing job assignment for extended periods.
• Physical and visual activities that are commonly associated* with the performance of the functions of this job:
• Standing walking lifting (up to 50 lbs. without assistance) carrying (same as lifting) pushing pulling.
• Physical demands commonly associated* with the performance of the functions of this job:
• Machines Tools Equipment Software: T-Box S.B.O AIB ISO 2000 hand pallet jack
• Work in areas of fluctuating temperature.

• Inside Conditions noise (from printing presses and forklifts) vibration odors and dust.

Safe Quality Food Responsibilities for all employees:

• Follow all Plant rules Processes Hygiene and Allergens procedures related toproductionof Safe Quality Foods.

• Report to person of authority to record any potentially unsafe conditions which may result in unsafe foods or noncompliance to SQF related procedures.

• Participate in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions (from customer complaints SQF audits validation and verification activities) asrequired.

• Follow all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF).

• Report any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority to record and/or correct the situation.
