Summary

As a Sheet Metal Repair Laborer you willassistRoofers and Foremen to prepare job sites and install roofing systems includingmetal aluminum wood and related materials. You will alsooperatehand and power tools of all types.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: High School/GEDpreferred butnotrequired.
  • Experience: Sheet metal experience is required.
  • Drivers License: Required

Skills & Qualifications

  • Soldering experience with copper/brass/stainless/mild steel/aluminum is a plus.
  • Strong commitment to safety.
  • Attention to detail and quality craftsmanship.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced physically demanding environment.
  • Attention to detail and the ability toidentifyand resolve problems.
  • Willingness to learn new roofing systems techniques and equipment.
  • Problem-solving skillsand the ability to work independently when needed.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing jobsite conditions and priorities.

What youll do:

  • Prepare job sites andmaintaina clean safe work environment.
  • Remove debris from roofs and surrounding work areas.
  • Assistwith installing insulation vapor barriers and roofing materials.
  • Assistwith installing and repairingroofing systems using materials such as metal shingles slate asphalt aluminum wood and single-ply systems.
  • Apply adhesives sealants caulking and roofing cement as needed.
  • Safelyoperatehand tools power tools vehicles and other job-related equipment.
  • Follow company safety procedures andidentifypotential hazards.
  • Work collaboratively with crew members to complete projects on schedule.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

  • Requires the ability to lift and carry items weighing 50 pounds.
  • Requires the ability to stand walk and balance forlong periodsof time.
  • Requires use of abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without giving out or fatiguing.
  • Requires seeing details at close range.
  • Requires repetitive movement bending twisting kneeling crouching stooping or crawling.
  • Requires working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Work Environment

This position requires working in a variety of environmental conditions including:

  • Exposure to extremely bright or inadequate lighting.
  • Working in temperatures above 90F or below 32F.
  • Exposure to loud distracting or uncomfortable noise levels.
  • Exposure to contaminants hazardous materials and potentially hazardous equipment.
  • Working at heights and in other potentially dangerous conditions.
  • Exposure to minor injuries such as burns cuts bites or stings.
  • Performing work where errors may have significant consequences.
  • Strict adherence to all safety policies procedures and regulations isrequired.
