Position SummaryThe Program Leader I is responsible for the daily operation and implementation of ProYouths after-school program at an assigned Self-Help Enterprises (SHE) community center. The Program Leader supervises and engages school-age youth of varying ages while maintaining a safe welcoming inclusive and engaging environment. Responsibilities include opening and closing the community center preparing program spaces and facilitating academic support enrichment recreation and youth development activities. The Program Leader also supports community and family events and promotes the program within the SHE community to increase awareness participation and student attendance. Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate daily attendance records completing required program documentation entering attendance data and fulfilling all CACFP snack distribution and meal count requirements. The Program Leader maintains program supplies and equipment builds positive relationships with students and families and serves as ProYouths primary on-site representative while ensuring all ProYouth and SHE policies procedures and safety requirements are followed.

Primary Role and ResponsibilitiesSupport student mastery of new skills through project-based learningMaintain a culture of safety and well-being with students in both the classroom and outdoor settingEstablish clear consistent expectations for behavior and positive that every student feels known accepted valued and and maintain a high level of trust through effective communication and promote the mission and values of ProYouth through appropriate appearance words and individual and/or groups of students in a variety of settings (e.g. classroom playground library etc.) for the purpose of enforcing SHE and ProYouth expectations and procedures regarding student behavior and participation and/or providing a safe respectful and positive learning in conjunction with the Site Director and all program staff to ensure that activities are exciting and relevant to youth as well as well-thought out and issues concerns and challenges to immediate supervisorBuild and maintain a high level of trust through effective communication and promote the mission and values of ProYouth through appropriate appearance words and positive and professional relationships with SHE community members coworkers supervisors ProYouth executive and administrative staffParticipate as a positive team member for the purpose of enhancing and sharing knowledge and skills for the delivery of best professional behavior that reflects positively on ProYouths policies and practicesCommunicate with transparencySupport site staff to work effectively and efficiently while building trust and partnershipsComplete responsibilities accurately and on timeHold everyone including yourself accountable for their actionsPerform related duties as assigned within your scope of practice and training

Education and Experience Bachelors Degree is preferred High School diploma or equivalent AND o 48 completed College Units OR o NCLB Paraprofessional Certification A minimum of two years experience working with youth is desirable

General Requirements Must be at least 18 years of age or older. Must pass a DOJ/FBI background check. Must receive TB clearance. Must pass pre-employment drug screening. A valid California Drivers License Evidence of adequate auto insurance coverage is required. You must be listed as an ensured driver.
