Responsibilities

• Prepare beverages and set up beverage stations daily
• Set up meal service timely according to schedule
• Must maintain and stock utensils for daily meal service
• Must serve patients staff and visitors in a professional manner
• Washing dishes and putting up clean and sanitized dishes to appropriate areas
• Clean kitchen and equipment as needed or according to routine cleaning schedule. Will obey all sanitation and safety rules and complete assigned weekly cleaning duties
• Assist with cleaning projects sweeping mopping garbage removal as assigned
• Stock and straighten storerooms coolers and freezers as directed
• Attend in-service classes as required
• Must maintain a professional demeanor and appearance
• Regular attendance
• Must be able to work in a cooperative manner with co-workers managers patients and prospective patients
• Must be able to work in constant state of alertness to perform the job in a safe manner
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Food Service Director
• Must obtain food handlers certification

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of sanitary food preparation procedures and general equipment use and cleaning
• 2 years food service experience in a health care setting preferred
• Read write and speak so as to communicate and follow written/oral instructions
• Must be able to see at 20/40 corrected in each eye and hear (hearing aid acceptable)
• Must be able to stand on your feet continuously for an 8-hour shift
• Ambulate through kitchen
• Able to bend and lift objects up to a maximum of 10-15 lbs. or over 20 lbs. with assistance
• Operate food service and dishwashing equipment safely
