What Were Looking For
Software engineering fundamentals with experience building shipping and operatingproduction services or client applications
Proficiencyin designingscalable reliable systemsthat support rapid iteration and experimentation
Experience writing highquality maintainable code and owning services endtoend in a live environment
Ability to reason about performance reliability and correctness in hightraffic systems
Experience supporting or drivingexperimentation (A/B testing)in production environments
Understanding of experimentation quality including guardrails metricsselection and rollout strategies
Engineering mindset grounded inhypothesisdriven developmentand learning through iteration
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4 years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including but not limited to C C C# Java JavaScript or Python OR equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
2 yearsshippingA/B testsendtoend in production (design instrumentation analysis rollout) including improving experiment quality and guardrails
4 yearsbuilding and shippinghighavailability featuresformultiregion globally distributed systems(resiliency failover capacity planning)
Demonstrated experienceleaning heavily on AI to accelerate engineering velocity including using AI tools to prototype implement debug and iterate on production features
Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119800 - $234700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $160200 - $261000 per year.
Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation. Find additional benefits and pay information here: Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $142800 - $274800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188000 - $304200 per year.
