Job Summary
HYBRID EMPLOYEE:Reports to the institution in Tampa FL. Can work remotely 1 to 2 days a week.
HOURS:Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Senior Systems Integrations Engineer is a technical leader responsible for designing developing and maintaining scalable system integrations across enterprise platforms. This role combines deep expertise in application integration and DevOps practices ensuring efficient deployment pipelines seamless data exchange and system addition to engineering responsibilities this position supports team collaboration mentors developers and contributes to the continuous improvement of integration and delivery strategies.

Responsibilities
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:
- 30% Design and Development: Develops and maintains secure scalable integrations between enterprise systems internal applications and third-party services. Designs APIs and service-oriented architectures that align with best practices and business needs. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to translate complex requirements into efficient maintainable technical solutions. Leads technical design efforts for projects involving significant integration or infrastructure components keeping in mind risk and cost components. Maintain knowledge of storage compute and network components as pertains to integrations.
- 25% DevOps and Deployment Automation: Implements and manages CI/CD pipelines to support rapid reliable software delivery. Works closely with infrastructure and operations teams to ensure alignment on deployment practices and environment configuration. Develops and maintains scripts and infrastructure-as-code for automated provisioning monitoring and deployment. Integrates automated testing security scanning and observability tools into the release process.
- 20% Integration Architecture and Monitoring: Serves as a subject matter expert on application and data integrations middleware platforms and message-based systems. Monitors the performance and health of integrations proactively identifying and addressing reliability efficiency and scalability concerns. Implements logging alerting and telemetry to support visibility and troubleshooting of integration and deployment issues.
- 15% Technical Guidance and Team Collaboration: Provides hands-on mentoring to developers in integration patterns CI/CD practices and modern deployment approaches. Conducts code reviews and technical consultations to ensure consistency quality and adherence to architectural standards.
Supports the team lead in coordinating technical tasks backlog refinement and sprint planning activities. Collaborates with other senior developers peers and architects to align solutions with enterprise direction. Provides guidance to build initial project documents related to platform enhancement (concept proposals and LBCs). - 5% Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Produces and maintains high-quality technical documentation for systems integrations and DevOps processes. Establishes standards for documenting deployment procedures system dependencies and operational runbooks. Leads internal workshops or training sessions on DevOps tools best practices and integration frameworks.
- 5% Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Stays current with emerging tools frameworks and best practices in application integration and DevOps. Identifies opportunities to improve development workflows deployment pipelines and operational processes. Pilots new technologies and tools to evaluate their effectiveness and suitability for the teams needs.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree in Information technology engineering or related.
Five (5) years in any occupation with experience in systems integrations.
Five (5) years in any occupation with experience in systems integrations must include: Educational or administrative systems in higher education environments (Student Information Systems Learning Management Systems or ERP systems); Designing and implementing RESTful APIs microservices architectures and enterprise integration solutions; Cloud-based integration solutions using Azure Logic Apps and Azure Function Apps; Azure API Management for managing enterprise APIs; CI/CD deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps Git version control and automated testing frameworks; Change Data Capture (CDC) technologies batch processing and file-based integration patterns; Job scheduling and workflow automation; Database development and stored procedures using Oracle PL/SQL and SQL Server; and Integration patterns including message queuing event-driven architecture asynchronous processing and real-time data synchronization.
ALTERNATE EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Employer will accept a Masters degree in Information technology engineering or related and three (3) years in any occupation with experience in systems integrations. Must have skills listed above.
