Pay Range: $96/hour. Employee benefits include but are not limited to health insurance (medical dental vision) 401(k) plan and paid sick leave (depending on work location).
Key Responsibilities:
- Own structural mechanical and thermal analysis for the vehicle
- Perform structural analysis: FEA hand calculations and buckling
- Verify structural interfaces with propulsion buoyancy energy and payload systems
- Drive trade studies balancing strength weight corrosion and cost
- Support prototype builds and structural test campaigns
- Contribute to design reviews (PDR CDR) and documentation
- Travel up to 25% to test sites and manufacturing facilities
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Structural Engineering or equivalent
- 7 years of experience in structural design and analysis for marine aerospace or robotic systems
- Proficiency with analysis tools (Nastran ANSYS Abaqus or equivalent)
- Experience with materials selection for corrosive or high-pressure environments
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance
- Experience with submarine or pressure hull structures
- Familiarity with ABS or DNV structural design codes
- Experience with composites and weld analysis
- Experience in defense or maritime robotics
