MaxIT Consulting Max Corporate Group is looking for a Senior Accountant to join an established US-based furniture manufacturing company in Chicago Illinois.

Reporting directly to the CFO you will run the complete accounting cycle hands-on in a small lean finance team: general ledger month-end close reconciliations payables receivables and financial reporting.

In a small manufacturing company the accounting team is only a few people so the business needs an accountant who can personally execute every step of the process not just oversee others. Accurate books a clean and timely close and clear numbers for the CFO depend on this role.

This is a fully on-site position with no remote or off-site work close to the operation and with direct impact on the monthly financial results.

• Help prepare and analyze monthly quarterly and annual financial statements (balance sheet income statement and cash flow).
• Maintain an accurate general ledger: review post and adjust entries and support the month-end close.
• Perform GL and bank reconciliations and reconcile other financial accounts.
• Support budgets and forecasts and analyze variances between forecast and actual results.
• Support internal and external audits with documentation and responses to auditor requests.
• Process accounts payable with a 3-way match resolve vendor discrepancies maintain vendor data and run the weekly check run.
• Handle accounts receivable: post cash receipts and checks reconcile credit card transactions resolve customer discrepancies and follow up on past-due accounts.
• Use the companys accounting software and ERP to manage financial data and reporting.
• Work with other departments to support business objectives and special projects.

• 5 to 10 years of hands-on accounting experience executing the full accounting cycle end to end.
• Career experience predominantly in manufacturing companies (little or no background in public accounting nonprofits or service companies).
• Experience in small companies with lean accounting teams (fewer than three people).
• Hands-on experience with accounting software and ERP systems; MAS 90 / Sage 100 strongly preferred.
• Stable career history with at least one employer of 3 to 5 or more years of continuous service.
• Strong attention to detail organization and the ability to handle confidential information.
• Must live within approximately 45 minutes of the Chicago (60632) worksite.

• Experience with Crystal Reports.
