Job Summary
Key job responsibilities
- Design end-to-end migration and modernization solutions by analyzing customer application portfolios identifying dependencies assessing migration feasibility and architecting reliable cost-optimized paths to AWS.
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customer stakeholders from developers and system administrators to directors and C-level executives defining cloud strategies and ensuring solutions align with their business objectives.
- Lead technical solution discussions by diving deeply into design choices best practices and use cases while proactively identifying high-risk or overly complex options and engaging the right specialist resources when needed.
- Author and deliver thought leadership content such as whitepapers reference architectures and presentations that educate customers on migration best practices and AWS platform capabilities.
- Collaborate with internal teams including sales business development professional services and engineering to progress customer engagements through their lifecycle and accelerate solution adoption.
A day in the life
You start your morning reviewing a customers application portfolio assessment identifying which workloads are ready for migration and which need modernization. By mid-morning you are on a call with a customers engineering leadership walking through your proposed hybrid architecture and discussing trade-offs around scalability and cost. After lunch you collaborate with an AWS service team to refine a reference design that other Solutions Architects can reuse. Later you draft an AWS technical blog post capturing lessons learned from a recent large-scale migration turning your hands-on experience into guidance the broader community can benefit from.

- 8 years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development cloud computing systems engineering infrastructure security networking data & analytics) experience
- 3 years of design implementation or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- 10 years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
- 5 years of infrastructure architecture database architecture and networking experience
- Experience working with end user or developer communities

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
