The SDS software engineering team is building systems that enable large-scale supply chain and fulfillment optimizations providing Apple extraordinary cost labor and environmental savings. We work side-by-side with machine learning engineers and business teams to implement scalable easy-to-use systems and tools. We are seeking a customer-focused passionate and driven Software Engineer with experience in building analytic tools and solutions.

The SDS Fulfillment team builds the systems that automate and optimize Apples order fulfillment and supply chain operations improving the customer experience while driving essential cost labor and carbon savings. As a Software Engineer on the SDS team you will work closely with Machine Learning Engineers and other Software Engineers to lead the design and implementation of systems and tools that directly impact our customers and company revenue. nYou will be: n Developing and implementing production software for optimizing u0026 automating business processesn Responsible for system architecture design with a focus on durability reliability concurrency and performance under peak loads such as product launchesn Working with external infrastructure teams to drive the development of infrastructure needsn Innovating by recognizing opportunities for automation and tools improvementsn Responsible for developing and implementing process improvements to bring efficiency and stability to fulfillment u0026 supply chain processesn Lead the team to increase the level of maturity and skill in analytical software developmentn Responsible for release engineering including CI/CD pipelines automated testing safe rollouts with feature flags database schema migrations and observability tooling

BS or advanced degree in Computer Science related field or equivalent experiencenMastery of one of Python Java Scala C or equivalent languagen4 years of experience in software engineering/data sciencenExperience building data science or data analysis tools on Hadoop/cloud based systems

Some experience with Docker Kubernetes or cloud platform deploymentnFamiliarity with event-driven architectures and durable workflow orchestration frameworks (like Temporal) to coordinate complex long-running processesnExperience with Relational databases and NoSQL databases including schema design query performance and migrationsnDemonstrated understanding of the full software development lifecycle: design testing CI/CD release monitoring and production supportnExperience designing building and scaling high-throughput distributed systems in productionnExcellent problem solving critical thinking and communication skillsnSolid grasp of computer science fundamentals including data structures and algorithmsnSolid ability to evaluate and apply new technologies in a short timenSelf-motivated proactive and solution-oriented
