Senior Software Engineer

Join a small remote engineering team building AI-powered tax and financial software. You will own product features end to end and help turn AI workflows into dependable experiences for users handling sensitive financial information.

• Design build and operate full-stack features from backend data models and services through user-facing interfaces.
• Help shape backend services data pipelines and event-driven architecture as the product grows.
• Work with AI engineers to integrate agent workflows into reliable polished product experiences.
• Build security auditability and access controls into systems that handle sensitive financial data.
• Use AI coding tools in day-to-day development and help improve how the team works with them.

• A degree in computer science or a related STEM field with at least 5 years of full-time software engineering experience after graduation and 10 years building backend or full-stack systems at scale.
• Production experience delivering and operating full-stack features including TypeScript with and React or .
• Experience with Python services Kafka or event-driven data pipelines distributed systems and microservices.
• Background building fintech systems such as payments billing ledgers or risk products.
• Experience on an early-stage startup team or a startup-like team plus familiarity with security and compliance for sensitive data.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or Green Card holder. This is a full-time employee role not a contract position.

Base salary is $185000 to $225000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Remote within the United States with Chicago as the primary location.
