Job Summary

The Cohen Center for Modern Jewish Studies is looking for a Senior Research Associate I. The Sr. Research Associates primary responsibility is to work closely with the PI to conduct all phases of complex research projects including proposal development design data collection analysis and interpretation of study results through reports academic articles and presentations. Manage field work including conduct telephone and in-person interviews focus groups and site visits. Develop administer and analyze surveys. Author reports and pier-reviewed journal articles.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Serves as project manager on major research studies. Conceptualizes and oversees complex project research. Recommends research design to PIs/Co-PIs and other team members. Prepares overall project plans and budgets. Manages field work: from creation of instruments to the preparation of final manuscripts. Analyzes a wide variety of complex quantitative and qualitative data 65%
  • Provides day-to-day direction to regular research staff and student workers on assigned projects. Mentors and train less experienced research staff. May have full managerial responsibility 15%
  • Authors reports and pier-reviewed journal articles; presents and publishes findings. 15%
  • Performs other assignments as needed. 5%

The salary range for the position is $74200-$92700.


Requirements:

  • Doctoral degree (PhD) in a social science or humanities field with a research focus such as psychology sociology or public policy preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience is required
  • Works on multiple projects across the center so must be willing to juggle multiple responsibilities and work across teams.
