Senior Project Manager MEP Construction Remote
Job Summary
MalaceHR is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee a portfolio of retail construction and renovation projects throughout the United States.
The ideal candidate will have a proven background managing retail projects either directly for retail occupiers or through a third-party project management or commercial real estate firm. This position requires someone who can step into the role and immediately manage active projects with minimal training.
The Senior Project Manager will typically oversee approximately 1012 concurrent projects which may include remodels renovations new store builds and other retail construction initiatives. This individual will be responsible for projects from initial planning and budgeting through construction closeout and turnover.
Manage multiple retail construction renovation remodel and new-build projects simultaneously.
Oversee projects throughout the full project lifecycle including planning design budgeting scheduling procurement construction and closeout.
Manage approximately 1012 active projects at varying stages of completion.
Develop and maintain project budgets schedules scopes and milestone tracking.
Coordinate architects engineers general contractors vendors consultants landlords and other project stakeholders.
Lead project meetings and provide clear updates regarding schedule budget risks and outstanding action items.
Monitor construction progress and identify potential delays cost concerns or project risks before they impact delivery.
Review proposals change orders invoices schedules and project documentation.
Ensure projects are completed on time within approved budgets and according to established quality standards.
Manage project reporting and documentation using project management platforms and tools.
Maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders while providing a high level of customer service.
Travel to project sites as required for meetings inspections construction oversight and project milestones.
Manage multiple priorities across geographically dispersed projects in a fast-paced environment.
Bachelors degree in Construction Management Architecture Engineering Real Estate Business or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of project management experience.
Demonstrated experience managing retail construction projects is strongly required.
Experience working directly for retail occupiers or through a third-party project management/commercial real estate organization.
Proven ability to independently manage projects from inception through completion.
Experience managing multiple smaller projects simultaneously across multiple locations.
Strong understanding of commercial construction processes budgeting scheduling procurement and project closeout.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Strong client-facing communication and presentation abilities.
Ability to work effectively with contractors architects engineers vendors and internal stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make timely decisions in a fast-paced project environment.
Ability and willingness to travel based on project requirements.
Commercial real estate project management experience.
Experience managing retail remodels renovations and ground-up/new-build projects.
Smartsheet experience strongly preferred.
PMP or other recognized project management certification.
Experience with project management construction management scheduling and financial tracking software.
Knowledge of commercial building systems construction processes permitting requirements and building codes.
