Pay: $105000.00 - $125000.00 per year

Location: Chicago IL Full-Time On-SiteJoin our Chicago team in a collaborative hands-on environment where youll work directly with project teams and leadership.

Note: Hands-on construction job cost accounting experience and a bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field are essential. Experience with federal government construction contracts is highly valued but not required.

Job Description

• Manage job cost accounting and financial reporting for multiple construction projects.
• Monitor project budgets forecasts expenses and cost variances.
• Review construction contracts change orders subcontractor invoices and supporting documentation.
• Oversee project revenue recognition and maintain accurate accounting records.
• Prepare monthly financial reports reconciliations and closing entries.
• Partner with project managers to identify financial risks and improve profitability.
• Support compliance with applicable government contract requirements.
• Help improve accounting processes reporting accuracy and internal controls.

Qualifications

• 4 years of construction project accounting or job cost accounting experience.
• Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
• Strong understanding of GAAP revenue recognition budgeting and financial reporting.
• Experience with construction accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with construction contracts change orders and subcontractor billing.
• Strong organizational analytical and communication skills.
• Federal government contracting experience preferred.
• CPA certification or progress toward certification is a plus.
