Were hiring the first embedded Lead Product Designer for Cloudflares Web Integrity & Trust product suite. More than 50% of Internet traffic is automated. Knowing whos human whos an agent and whos a malicious actor is core to Cloudflares strategy and one of the primary values we sell to our customers.

Cloudflare sits in front of more than 20% of the web. That vantage point lets us detect automated threats fraud and traffic manipulation at a scale and depth no one else can match. Turning that raw signal into something a human can understand trust and act on is one of the most interesting design problems in security today and its the problem youll own.

Our products make probabilistic decisions in an adversarial environment. Is this traffic truthfully representing who they are and Can we trust this traffic doesnt have a clean yes-or-no answer. Our objective is to minimize risk without ever having ground truth. Your job is to make that kind of reasoning legible and controllable to the people who rely on it from the security analyst running an investigation to the marketing team trying to understand the performance of their most recent campaign.

This role spans the full arc of how customers work with our product suite from navigation configuration exploring and investigating their traffic to proving the value of what Cloudflares network sees. Today those experiences live in disconnected places; a core part of this role is envisioning the coherent product they should become. This role will work directly with the Director of Product and across the PMs who lead each product line

This is a rare 0-to-1 seat: youll help define the interaction model for a suite of product categories we are largely inventing with room to shape not just how it looks but what it fundamentally is.

• A product inventor who works in the medium of design. Youve taken genuinely ambiguous ill-defined problem spaces and defined what the product should be. You can point to work where the concept was yours.
• Youve had to make a complex high-dimensional system legible to the people who live in it whether in security fraud observability developer tools analytics network operations finance or somewhere equally demanding. You dont need a security background but you need the mind and craft to go deep in one fast.
• You use AI fluently in your own craft and you have the judgment to know where it accelerates the work and where it falls short.
• You bring independent design conviction. Youve originated solutions in spaces with little prior art and you can clearly articulate why a design is right or why youre pushing back.
• Exceptional at the full craft interaction design information architecture and especially data visualization with enough visual polish to make it real and compelling.
• Someone who wants to obsess over a domain. You want to go deep and are excited about pushing boundaries in a complex space.
• Comfortable with a blank page. As the first design lead youll set your own process and build alongside your peers and engineers.

• Experience as the first or founding designer on a team or product.
• Exposure to security trust & safety fraud / ad fraud (IVT) or ML-driven products.
• Comfort prototyping in code or working fluently with engineers who do.
• Familiarity with how analysts or operations teams actually work day to day.

Project Galileo: Since 2014 weve equipped more than 2400 journalism and civil society organizations in 111 countries with powerful tools to defend themselves against attacks that would otherwise censor their work technology already used by Cloudflares enterprise customers--at no cost.

Athenian Project: In 2017 we created the Athenian Project to ensure that state and local governments have the highest level of protection and reliability for free so that their constituents have access to election information and voter registration. Since the project weve provided services to more than 425 local government election websites in 33 states.

1.1.1.1: We released 1.1.1.1 to help fix the foundation of the Internet by building a faster more secure and privacy-centric public DNS resolver. This is available publicly for everyone to use - it is the first consumer-focused service Cloudflare has ever released. Heres the deal - we dont store client IP addresses never ever. We will continue to abide by our privacy commitment and ensure that no user data is sold to advertisers or used to target consumers.
