Senior Precision CNC Grinder / Manual Machinist

Location: Maple Shade NJ

Compensation: $32-$35/hr

Employment type: Direct Hire

Job summary: Our client in Maple Shade NJ is seeking a CNC Machinist to support their team. This is a Direct Hire role offering between $32-$35/hr based on experience. The schedule for this role is 6AM-4:30PM Monday through Friday overtime is available on Saturdays.

This is a hands-on precision machining position focused on manual machining and precision grinding. This role is ideal for machinists who enjoy craftsmanship problem-solving and producing precision componentsnot simply operating production equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform precision grinding and machining operations including OD grinding ID grinding honing milling drilling and tapping.
• Read and interpret blueprints engineering drawings and specifications.
• Set up and operate manual machining and grinding equipment.
• Inspect parts using precision measuring tools to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and help improve processes.
• Work with Engineering and Quality teams to meet customer requirements.
• Assist with training and mentoring junior machinists.
• Complete production and quality documentation.
• Maintain a safe clean and organized work area.

Requirements

• 8 years of machining experience.
• Strong experience with OD and ID grinding.
• Experience operating manual mills lathes drills and honing equipment.
• Ability to set up jobs and work independently from blueprints and drawings.
• Strong understanding of GD&T.
• Experience using measuring tools such as micrometers bore gauges dial indicators and height gauges.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Aerospace manufacturing experience.
• Tool & Die Maker or Journeyman Machinist background.
• Experience working with hardened steels and specialty alloys.
• Experience manufacturing precision tooling or complex parts and assemblies.
