Senior Platform Engineer St. Louis

We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to drive the evolution reliability and automation of our cloud-native (GCP) and hybrid this role you will bridge the gap between development and operations by building robust CI/CD pipelines scaling Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and championing SRE practices to maximize system uptime. As a technical leader you will mentor junior engineers lead blameless postmortems and collaborate cross-functionally to turn complex business requirements into resilient secure and scalable platform solutions.


What youll do

Driving direction of a specific platform or application including creation of new environments software upgrades and tuning.

Driving the creation and amendment of automation scripts and supporting documentation.

Provide software deployment services for QA and production environments.

Direct application performance monitoring and tuning.

Be actively involved in protecting the uptime and performance of the application. Provide knowledge and expertise in the development and operational support and maintenance for a range of applications and tools.

Define the updates to the production environment.

Responsible for the installation set up and support of third party software running on internal managed environments.

Designing and setting up deployment procedures setting up robust processes monitoring production systems and managing configuration.

Provide mentorship to junior team members.

Ability to understand complex business issues and identify technical solutions.

Communicate direction clearly to other members of the team.

Manage system(s) uptime across cloud-native (GCP) and hybrid architectures.

Build infrastructure as code (IAC) patterns that meet security and engineering standards using one or more technologies (Terraform scripting with cloud CLI and programming with cloud SDK).

Build CI/CD pipelines for build test and deployment of application and cloud architecture patterns using platform (Jenkins) and cloud-native toolchains.

Build automated tooling to deploy service requests to push a change into production. Build runbooks that are comprehensive and detailed to manage detect remediate and restore services.

Solve problems and triage complex distributed architecture service maps. On call for high severity application incidents and improving run books to improve MTTR

Lead availability blameless postmortem and own the call to action to remediate recurrences.



What experience you need

BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding (e.g. physics or mathematics) or equivalent job experience required

Basic certification in key platform tool(s) and/or 5-7 years of relevant experience

Cloud Certification Strongly Preferred

2 years of experience developing and/or administering software in public cloud (AWS GCP Azure)

Experience in monitoring infrastructure and application uptime and availability to ensure functional and performance objectives.

Experience in languages such as Python Bash Java Go JavaScript and/or

Demonstrable cross-functional knowledge with systems storage networking security and databases

System administration skills including automation and orchestration of Linux/Windows using Terraform Chef Ansible and/or containers (Docker Kubernetes etc.)

Proficiency with continuous integration and continuous delivery tooling and practices

Cloud Certification Strongly Preferred
