Job Summary

Senior Pipeline Engineer

Play an integral role in Worleys Pipeline Systems team helping deliver the critical infrastructure that supports energy chemicals resources and emerging energy markets across North America. As energy demand evolves and investment in critical infrastructure continues to accelerate you will contribute to the design development and optimization of pipeline and midstream systems that safely and efficiently transport oil natural gas CO₂ water hydrogen and other energy products.

Based in Denver you will join one of Worleys premier Pipeline Systems Subject Matter Expert (SME) teams supporting projects throughout North America. This team serves as a technical center of excellence for pipeline engineering providing leadership across the full project lifecycle from feasibility studies and routing evaluations through detailed engineering construction support commissioning and operational improvement initiatives. Through technical excellence innovation and collaboration you will help customers modernize energy delivery systems improve infrastructure resiliency and support the transition to a more sustainable energy future.

Purpose of the role

As a Senior Pipeline Engineer at Worley you will lead the delivery of engineering and project execution work supporting oil gas CO₂ water hydrogen and other pipeline and midstream assets. With a strong background in pipeline systems and energy infrastructure you will develop and implement engineering solutions that enhance operational efficiency reliability safety constructability and regulatory compliance.

You will manage engineering activities in accordance with contractual requirements and Worley governance translating customer and operational objectives into practical execution strategies. Working independently and in collaboration with project and portfolio leadership you will help deliver predictable project outcomes while strengthening trusted customer relationships across the pipeline and midstream sector.

As a key member of Worleys North American Pipeline SME team you will provide technical leadership across multiple projects support the development of engineering standards and best practices mentor junior engineers and contribute to solving complex pipeline challenges that impact energy transportation and delivery infrastructure.

This position will be based in Denver and will support a hybrid work environment that combines office collaboration customer engagement and project support activities. Based in Denver the Pipeline Engineering team serves as a technical center of excellence for pipeline and midstream projects across North America delivering engineering solutions that support new energy infrastructure system expansions integrity improvements operational optimization carbon capture initiatives and energy transition projects.

As a member of this team you will collaborate with experienced pipeline mechanical civil structural environmental integrity and project professionals on projects ranging from gathering systems and transmission pipelines to compressor stations pump stations meter facilities terminals and carbon capture infrastructure.

You will be responsible for

  • Delivering pipeline engineering services that meet Worley customer statutory and regulatory requirements while maintaining schedule budget safety and quality objectives.
  • Leading and executing pipeline engineering activities for gathering transmission distribution and midstream infrastructure projects.
  • Managing pipeline engineering scope schedules technical quality and project execution requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Developing engineering solutions for crude oil natural gas NGL CO₂ hydrogen water and other pipeline systems.
  • Supporting pipeline routing hydraulic analysis wall thickness calculations pressure design material selection constructability assessments and facility integration.
  • Leading technical evaluations related to pipeline routing constructability hydraulic performance system capacity integrity management and long-term asset reliability.
  • Preparing reviewing and approving pipeline engineering calculations technical reports specifications material requisitions and design deliverables.
  • Supporting the design and development of compressor stations pump stations meter and regulation facilities launcher and receiver facilities and mainline valve sites.
  • Participating in project reviews customer meetings risk assessments constructability reviews and technical workshops.
  • Identifying technical risks scope changes and opportunities to improve project delivery asset performance and customer outcomes.
  • Providing engineering support during procurement construction commissioning and startup activities including technical bid evaluations and field support.
  • Coordinating with civil structural mechanical electrical instrumentation environmental and project management teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions.
  • Serving as a technical resource and mentor to junior and intermediate engineers.
  • Supporting proposal development engineering estimates project planning activities and business development pursuits.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of pipeline engineering standards technical practices digital delivery tools and quality processes.
  • Promoting Worleys commitment to health safety environmental stewardship quality and operational excellence.

What youll bring to the role

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline from an accredited university.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) designation preferred or the ability to obtain licensure.
  • Minimum 10 years of pipeline engineering experience supporting oil gas CO₂ water hydrogen or other midstream infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated experience leading engineering activities on pipeline and midstream projects within an EPC environment.
  • Strong understanding of pipeline design construction operations maintenance and integrity management principles.
  • Demonstrated experience performing and reviewing pipeline hydraulic analysis system capacity assessments surge evaluations and flow modeling studies.
  • Flow assurance experience is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of pipeline routing crossing design constructability reviews material selection and pipeline facilities design.
  • Familiarity with compressor stations pump stations meter facilities launcher and receiver stations and associated pipeline infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable industry standards and regulations including ASME B31.4 ASME B31.8 DOT Part 192 DOT Part 195 and related regulatory requirements.
  • Experience supporting multidisciplinary engineering projects and collaborating across technical disciplines.
  • Proficiency with pipeline engineering software hydraulic modeling tools and related engineering applications.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and manage engineering deliverables on complex projects.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving and engineering judgment skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively engage customers regulators contractors and project teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining technical quality and delivery commitments.

Compensation for Colorado applicants:

  • Salary Range is $135252 - $191900
