Senior Mission Support Specialist

As a Senior Mission Support Specialist your typical work assignments may include:

• Serving as the Senior Mission Support Specialist for the Domestic Division GSU and provides overall planning and administration of programs oversight and leadership to GSU in support of Division leadership by performing administrative human resource liaison internal control logistics to include fleet personal property (accountable and non-accountable) and supply management quality assurance Records Management and TFO Management.
• Administrative policies procedures techniques and planning strategies.
• Skill in planning and conducting special projects and studies to recommend improvements to business operations efficiency and effectiveness.
• Oral and written communication sufficient to deal convincingly and effectively with high-level officials both within and outside the Division; to prepare material for meetings/briefings; to conduct coordination; and to prepare staff actions (reports briefings correspondence etc.) in final.
• Planning and conducting special projects and studies to recommend improvements to business operations efficiency and effectiveness.
• Developing new or modified work methods organizational structures management processes and program administrative procedures.

  Applicants applying for the GS-12 must meet the following requirements:
  
  Have at least one full year of qualifying specialized experience that is at least equivalent in difficulty and complexity to work performed at the GS-11 grade level.
  
  Qualifying experience must demonstrate the following:1) Advising supervisors customers and team members on administrative and management matters regarding policies procedures and regulations that impact the operation of a division or major office; 2) Experience with executing supervisors priorities and business operations in order to meet suspenses; 3) Managing day-to-day operations to support mission requirements; and 4) Assisting in managing the business operations support activities and functions of an office and related to at least three of the following programs: Administrative Support Services Human Resources Liaison Fleet Personal Property (accountable and non-accountable) Inspections and Internal Controls Logistics Task Force Officer (TFO) Management Supply Management and Records Management.

  Have at least one full year of qualifying specialized experience that is at least equivalent in difficulty and complexity to work performed at the GS-12 grade level.
  
  Qualifying experience must demonstrate the following:1) Advising supervisors customers and team members on administrative and management matters regarding policies procedures and regulations that impact the operation of a division or major office; 2) Experience with executing supervisors priorities and business operations in order to meet short and long range deadlines; 3) Managing day-to-day operations to support mission requirements; and 4) Managing the business operations support activities and functions of an office and related to at least five of the following programs: Administrative Support Services Human Resources Liaison Fleet Personal Property (accountable and non-accountable) Inspections and Internal Controls Logistics Task Force Officer (TFO) Management Supply Management and Records Management.
  
  Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community student social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience.
