This people leader role oversees day-to-day security operations across Stanford Medicine facilities driving operational excellence regulatory compliance emergency preparedness and continuous improvement initiatives. Success in this position comes from building high-performing teams strengthening partnerships across clinical and operational departments and proactively managing risk in a dynamic healthcare environment. Ideal candidates bring leadership experience in healthcare security public safety law enforcement or related industries along with expertise in incident management access control investigations emergency response and stakeholder engagement. Lead and develop frontline security teams and supervisors
Drive operational readiness service excellence and performance outcomes
Partner with leaders across Stanford Medicine to enhance safety and security programs
Serve as a key leader in developing the security strategy and design for the new Stanford Medicine Cancer Center campus embedding security and operational best practices from planning through implementation.
Occupies a unique position between security operations and strategic development leveraging operational expertise to inform strategy drive continuous improvement and strengthen the departments overall security posture.

A Brief Overview
The Stanford Healthcare Security Operations Center is the core for all essential physical security operations across the enterprise. Reporting to the Director of Security Services the Senior Manager of Security operations has direct management responsibility of the day-to-day 24X7X365 operations of the Stanford Healthcare SOC including card access security video and other security programs. The role requires a highly motivated manager who possesses a strong leadership background and the ability to manage a diverse team of security officers operations center specialists and security technology professionals.
In addition to leading and further developing a best-in-class operations center the SOC manager will play a key role in developing crisis management investigation and business continuity initiatives.
With a focus on lean management the SOC Manager will manage and develop detailed reporting metrics to ensure all KPIs and SLAs are met and operations and projects deliver a viable ROI.

What you will do
- Proposes security strategies based on latest trends and developments. Keeps abreast of latest technologies and makes recommendations for technology upgrades and program enhancements. Responsible for policies and new program roll-outs.
- Identifies key security metrics and provides regular report-outs.
- Develop and implement an audit/compliance/corrective action program for all operational and technology services.
- Full management responsibility for operations of card access program security video systems and investigative software.
- Manages budgets develops program policies and procedures.
- Develops crisis management responses ensures personnel are appropriately trained oversees Hospital-wide awareness programs and preparations. Coordinates across multiple departments and external emergency agencies including Police fire and various governmental agencies. Prepares business continuity plans.
- Responsible for all off-site security issues. Manages security vendor contracts. Ensures contracted services meet regulatory and internal Hospital standards and regulations.
- Provides oversight to the dispatch office and ensures adequate response time and procedures are in place.
- Responsible for security training programs across the organization. Ensures all Hospital employees are knowledgeable of security procedures and emergency actions.
- Coordinates with other Security managers to ensure appropriate coordination. Provides leadership to own and other functions as appropriate.
- Develop implement and maintain security policy and standards based on HIPPA PCI ISO22301 and ISO/IEC 27001.
Education Qualifications
- Job requires a Bachelors degree. Relevant experience in lieu of degree may be considered. Relevant experience in lieu of degree is in addition to the experience requirements for this position.
- Bi-Lingual (Preferred)
Experience Qualifications
- 6 Years in a Security Operations Capacity including management experience
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Certification or Demonstrated Knowledge with Milestone CCTV and C-Cure Card Access Platofrms.
- Expert User in Excel and Ability to Develop Detailed Metric and Financial Reports.
- Working Knowledge of Police and EMS Response Protocols and Practices.
- Ability to Implement and Maintain Security Policies Strategies and Standards in the SOC environment.
- Experience with Security Officer Support Models Physical Security Technology Investigations Life-Safety and Loss Prevention Initiatives Policy Audit Compliance and Crisis Management and Business Continuity Programs.
- Extensive Experience in a Corporate or Healthcare Security Environment.
- Commitment to Staffing Training Developing and Leading and Best-in-Class SOC team.
- Ability to Develop Relationships and Work Across Multiple Internal and External Teams in both Daily Activities and During Crisis Level Events.
- Experience in Relationship Building with Local Police Fire Ambulatory and State/Federal Agencies.
- Substantial Experience in Managing Real-Time Incidents Multiple Concurrent Incidents and Crisis Level Situations.
- Detailed Understanding of KPIs and SLAs as Related to Alarm Events and Physical Response.
- Experience in Vendor Management Contract Negotiation and Understanding of Departmental Budget and Finances.
- High Ethical Standards with Proven Ability to Handle Confidential and Critical Information.
- Demonstrates Excellent Judgement Discretion and Diplomacy.
- Exhibits Excellent Problem Solving Skills with an Attention to Details.

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $74.73 - $99.04 per hourThe salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity experience education specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
