Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Mainframe Developer to support a large-scale enterprise modernization initiative involving AI-assisted transformation of legacy Mainframe applications into modern platforms.

This role requires deep hands-on expertise in IBM Mainframe technologies strong analytical and technical leadership capabilities and extensive experience supporting modernization remediation migration and transformation initiatives for complex enterprise systems.

The ideal candidate should possess strong experience analyzing legacy applications understanding complex business workflows documenting business rules leading technical discussions with clients and collaborating closely with modernization teams during transformation initiatives.

The candidate will serve as a technical lead and primary Mainframe point of contact working closely with client stakeholders architects Mainframe modernization teams QA teams and cloud engineering teams throughout the modernization life cycle.

Experience working with automated code analysis AI-assisted conversion tools modernization factories and enterprise transformation platforms is highly preferred.

• Lead technical discussions and Mainframe modernization workshops with client stakeholders
• Act as the primary technical point of contact for all Mainframe-related discussions questions dependencies and modernization activities
• Work closely with clients to understand existing Mainframe environments business processes integrations dependencies and operational workflows
• Recommend modernization migration remediation and transformation strategies based on enterprise modernization experience and best practices
• Lead Mainframe business and technical analysis discussions with client teams and stakeholders
• Support AI-assisted code conversion automated remediation and modernization factory workflows
• Analyze legacy application logic workflows interfaces integrations data structures and system dependencies
• Identify and document business rules technical processes data mapping reconciliation logic and functional behavior required for modernization initiatives
• Collaborate closely developers architects business analysts QA teams DevOps teams and cross-functional engineering teams
• Act as a liaison between Mainframe modernization teams cloud teams and business stakeholders
• Lead source code gathering system inventory analysis dependency analysis and Mainframe-specific technical assessment activities
• Validate converted application behavior and support functional equivalence testing and reconciliation activities
• Support application conversion remediation integration reconciliation and stabilization activities
• Assist with enterprise data migration and synchronization activities between legacy and modernized platforms
• Support troubleshooting debugging enhancement and production support activities for Mainframe applications
• Identify performance bottlenecks and support optimization initiatives for legacy applications and batch workloads
• Participate in modernization of factory workflows including automated analysis remediation transformation and stabilization activities
• Assist with automated code analysis and transformation activities using modernization platforms and AI-assisted conversion tools
• Participate in system testing integration testing user acceptance testing (UAT) and modernization validation activities
• Provide technical leadership mentorship and knowledge transfer to junior team members and modernization teams
• Prepare technical documentation system analysis documents modernization artifacts dependency mappings and operational runbooks

Required Qualifications

• 14 years of hands-on experience working with enterprise IBM Mainframe applications
• Strong hands-on expertise with:

• Strong understanding of:

• Extensive experience analyzing and supporting large complex legacy codebases and enterprise applications
• Hands-on experience supporting enterprise Mainframe modernization initiatives involving:
  • transformation
  • AI-assisted code conversion
  • Automated remediation workflows
  • Functional equivalence validation
  • Modernization factory delivery models
• Experience working with automated code analysis transformation pipelines modernization accelerators or modernization platforms
• Strong experience leading client-facing technical discussions and modernization analysis sessions
• Experience serving as a technical lead or Mainframe modernization lead
• Experience gathering and analyzing enterprise Mainframe source code and system dependencies
• Strong understanding of enterprise business workflows system dependencies data flows and legacy architectures
• Experience working with large enterprise data environments and enterprise integration ecosystems
