This role:
The Senior Machinist is a key member of a high-performing manufacturing support team responsible for maintaining and improving production equipment and tooling within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Machine Shop Manager this position plays a critical role in supporting daily operations through precision machining equipment maintenance troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain a safe organized and efficient machine shop environment while supporting manufacturing operations.
Manage project activities including cost tracking material procurement consumable inventory management and equipment maintenance.
Repair and refurbish manufacturing tooling fixtures and production equipment as required.
Set up program and operate CNC machine tools including lathes milling machines saws and grinders.
Inspect and verify finished parts for dimensional accuracy and conformance to drawings and quality standards.
Utilize CMM equipment to inspect measure and reverse-engineer components.
Interpret engineering drawings blueprints and technical specifications.
Maintain accurate documentation and records.
Troubleshoot machining tooling and equipment issues.
Support continuous improvement efforts. Qualifications and Experience
Required qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum of five years of machining experience or a machining-related technical degree.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
Experience programming and operating CNC lathes and mills.
Strong knowledge of machining practices and precision tolerances.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Metal fabrication experience.
Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
Physical and Safety Requirements
Ability to lift carry push and pull up to 50 pounds.
Ability to lift up to 20 pounds overhead.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to wear required PPE.
Willingness to work overtime including evenings and weekends as needed.
