Job Summary
The Senior FP&A Consultant is an individual-contributorrole within the Finance Department responsible for hands-on execution of financial modeling budgeting/forecasting support and profitability analysis. This role works closely with the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis the Chief FinancialOfficerto produce the data-driven analysis that underpins the firms strategic decision-making and financial performance management.
- Supports the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting cycles for the firm practice groups and offices in partnership with the CFO and Controller.
- Builds and maintains financial models to support long-range planning scenario analysis and capital allocation decisions.
- Prepares monthly quarterly and annual financial reporting packages and dashboards for the CFO Executive Committee and Shareholders.
- Supports ad hoc financial analysis and special projects requested by firm leadership including merger/lateral partner financial due diligence.
- Develops client-appropriate pricing options and proposals and serves as advisor/liaison to the Pricing Committee.
- Analyzes the financial cost structure and expected profitability of proposed fee arrangements prior to submission.
- Analyzes matter-level and client-level profitability on an ongoing basis and reports findings to firm leadership.
- Maintains and mines firm financial client information management and time/billing databases to support proposals and pitches.
- Bachelors degree required preferably in Finance Accounting Business or a related field; MBA or CPA a plus.
- 6years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis corporate finance or pricing with prior law firm or professional services experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with budgeting forecasting financial modeling and profitability analysis.
- Experience with legal pricing alternative fee arrangements and RFP processes is a significant plus.
- Experience with Elite Enterprise Aderant or a comparable legal financial or practice management system.
- Experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools such as Power BI or comparable platforms.
- No supervisory experience required; this is an individual-contributor role.
- Must be professional client-service oriented and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong financial analysis modeling and forecasting skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and sound business judgment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to present financial data to non-financial audiences.
- Technical skill to gather and evaluate data using both traditional and non-traditional tools and resources.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines independently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word Excel (including advanced modeling functions) Outlook SQL and internet search engines.
