Role Description

Gridwareisa full stack product operationbuilding frontier technology for utility customersto stop hazards and outages on the electric grid. As a full stack company we are not a hardware company nor a software company nor a data company nor a services company we are all of those andmanufacturehardware installin the fieldmanage afleetof devicesacross the US and Canada andrun real-time24/7continuousmonitoring serviceto ensure a safe and reliable electric grid. Our customerprofilesincludeutilitydispatchers asset engineerswildfire mitigationleaderslocal and stateregulatorsutility executivesand fieldlinecrews-all whomake high-consequence decisions usingourplatform.

We are on the hunt for aSr. Directorof Full Stack Productwho issincerely motivatedbyour mission energized by ouroperationalcomplexityandgenuinely wants to serve ourcustomer base. A leaderwho is ready to help us reach the nextstage of our growthbuilding on a base of strongproduct-marketfit and real customer a full-breadth horizontal view across everythingGridwareships and be a critical leader in steering the full-stack product directionpartneringclosely withcross-functionalleaders(hardware software field AI go-to-marketetc)and the C-TeamtohelpGridwarecontinue todeliver high-valueindustry-changingoutcomes.

This leaderreports directly to the COO/CPO and leadsa team of10and growing(across softwareproduct hardwareproductproduct marketing and design).

Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a high-performingfull-stackproduct strategic context coaching and cover forour existing diverseand high-performingproductteam to do their best work while developingthem intothe next stages of their careers.
  • Champion deep ongoing customer understanding andensuretheir problems to solve arereflected in how we prioritize what we ship and how we position your team to conductthoroughresearchmake regularfield visitsinspect data andparticipatein criticalcustomer conversations.
  • Drive prioritization frameworks for evaluating customer impact technical feasibility revenue potential regulatory requirements and strategic fit. Make the hard trade-offs visible andfacilitatethe decisions that resolve them.
  • Set the bar forproduct the rituals and artifacts that make product thinking institutionaland ensure thatproduct ledthinking permeates the broader organization.
  • Supportourgo-to-market the product marketing teaminclarifyingand unifyingour capabilitiestodrivemeasurablecustomer adoption and commercialization.
  • Integrate NPI/NTI from our R&D and Innovation teams into durableproductsdriving compounding impact. Support the process by which new product ideas and technology advancefrom R&D into product definition validation and go-to-market.
Required Skills
  • 10 years in PM roles with at least5 years of organizational/teamleadership and led teams of PMs managed managers and created product cultures that outlast any individual. You coach for growth hold ahigh performancebar and hire well.
  • Platform-leveland/ a product environment where software and hardware development are tightly coupled where release cycles differ and where the fieldR&D and upstream/downstream teamshave real influence on product direction.
  • Customer fluency in complex operational that supportutilitiesindustrial operationsor otherreal-worldinfrastructure.
  • Structured prioritization and trade-off facilitationthat serves a longer-term haveproven frameworks for making prioritization decisions under uncertainty and resource constraintwith a cross-functional stakeholder can hold a multi-year product arc in your head while managing a quarterly roadmap.
  • Demonstrated meaningfully improved a product operating model: the rituals artifacts and norms that make a distributed product team coherent and effective. Youhaveanevidence-basedapproachfor whyprocessand program management are as critical to product management as vision.
  • Strongcross-functionalexecutiveleadership can write a crisp strategy documentgive aconciseproduct update that drives a decisionandknow how to build alignment amongst differing perspectives.
Bonus Skills
  • Experience with IoT platforms sensor data or grid/energy infrastructure
  • Exposure to AI/ML-powered products where model output must be made legible and trustworthy to non-technical expert users
  • Familiarity with utility regulatory environments
  • Background in products with significant field operations or deployment complexity
  • Experience driving platform consolidation or product portfolio rationalization
