Senior Data Platform Infrastructure Engineer

Position Description:

CGI is seeking a Senior Data Platform Infrastructure Engineer to support the design implementation and ongoing management of enterprise scale cloud data platforms within a highly regulated financial services environment. This role is responsible for building and maintaining secure scalable and production ready infrastructure that enables modern data processing and analytics solutions across development test and production environments.

This role is located at a client site in Reston VA. A hybrid working model is acceptable.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

CGI is seeking a Senior Data Platform Infrastructure Engineer to support the design implementation and ongoing management of enterprise scale cloud data platforms within a highly regulated financial services environment. This role is responsible for building and maintaining secure scalable and production ready infrastructure that enables modern data processing and analytics solutions across development test and production environments.

The ideal candidate will bring strong AWS cloud expertise hands on experience with Databricks AWS EMR and AWS Glue and a solid understanding of infrastructure automation platform security governance monitoring and operational resiliency. Working closely with data engineering and platform teams this individual will help establish best practices for cloud infrastructure automate deployments support CI/CD processes and ensure the platform meets performance security and reliability requirements.

This position requires a proactive engineer who can work independently solve complex infrastructure challenges and contribute to the continuous improvement of cloud-based data platforms.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

. 5 years of experience supporting cloud-based data platforms infrastructure engineering or related data engineering environments. Strong experience designing deploying and supporting AWS based data platform infrastructure.
. Hands on expertise with Databricks administration and platform management.
. Experience supporting AWS data services including EMR Glue S3 Lambda CloudWatch IAM EC2 and EFS.
. Proficiency in Python and PySpark for data engineering and platform support activities.
. Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
. Knowledge of AWS networking security encryption IAM roles secrets management and access controls.
. Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
. Familiarity with monitoring logging alerting and operational support processes.
. Understanding of data governance metadata management data cataloging and storage integration.
. Experience with disaster recovery backup strategies platform resiliency and high availability architectures.
. Ability to establish and enforce security performance and cost optimization standards.
. Experience working with AI assisted development tools and modern engineering practices.
. Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
. Self starter who can work independently and take ownership of platform operations and improvements.

Desired Skillset:
AWS certifications (such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect AWS Certified Data Engineer or AWS Certified Developer) are preferred but not required.
Education:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems Engineering or a related technical field.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set level experience relevant training and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $108300.00 $154300.00.
