What You Will Do:
Support Federal clients across the full spectrum of financial management including federal grants reimbursable agreements procurement processes and budget formulation and execution. This role requires strong client relationship and presentation skills analytical skills knowledge of Federal financial management regulations and processes and the ability to translate complex financial data into clear insights and recommendations for clients. Works as part of a cross-functional team to deliver high-quality work products on time and in alignment with client goals.
Financial Management & Analysis:
Provide ongoing financial management support to Federal clients in accordance with applicable Federal financial management requirements and guidance.
Support the quantitative development of business case documentation (for example needs analyses and cost/benefit analyses).
Prepare review and reconcile financial documents such as federal financial transaction data reimbursable agreements and grant related financial records.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and propose practical recommendations to enhance financial operations and controls.
Client Delivery & Communication:
Develop clear well-structured deliverables (presentations reports analyses dashboards) that synthesize complex financial information into actionable insights and recommendations for clients including visually appealing high-level summaries of large financial datasets for various levels of stakeholders.
Facilitate client meetings and working sessions to gather data understand requirements and validate findings.
Communicate with client and internal stakeholders on project status findings and next steps including explaining financial concepts to non-financial audiences and summarizing key takeaways from external and internal stakeholder meetings.
Provide analysis and insight to managers and leadership to inform decision-making and project direction.
Innovation & Problem Solving:
Perform research and analysis to identify and obtain needed information including applicable Federal regulations policies best practices and public financial data sources such as to investigate financial transaction-level discrepancies.
Address issues and problems that are generally defined and may involve multiple interrelated factors applying sound judgment within established frameworks and guidance.
Recommend changes to processes tools or documentation to solve problems and improve efficiency or compliance including documenting current data analysis processes identifying improvement opportunities and iterating on data displays or communication methods to advance PMO goals.
Leadership & Teamwork:
Work as part of a team or independently while taking ownership of assigned tasks and workstreams proactively brainstorming path-forward options and asking targeted questions when guidance is needed.
Follow established methodologies standard operating procedures and quality standards.
Assist on large to mid-sized moderately complex projects or task orders including coordinating specific activities or deliverables.
Organization Impact & Stakeholder Management:
Contribute to achieving project deadlines quality expectations and client satisfaction.
Collaborate effectively with project team members internal support functions and client stakeholders to drive progress and resolve issues.
Share knowledge lessons learned and leading practices with the team to strengthen overall capability.
What You Will Need:
Bachelors degree.
Due to contract requirements US Citizenship is a must.
Ability to obtain Public trust clearance.
3 - 5 years of consulting experience preferably supporting Federal clients in financial managementrelated engagements.
Experience with Federal financial management such as grants management reimbursable agreements procurement processes or budget formulation and execution.
Experience working with Federal agencies and familiarity with Federal financial management requirements.
Knowledge of Federal financial management regulations and guidance (for example the Digital Accountability and Transparency Act (DATA Act) Treasury Financial Manual Federal Financial Management Improvement Act (FFMIA) OMB Circular A 123 and Federal budget process).
Experience developing and delivering training or knowledge transfer materials for Federal stakeholders.
Experience supporting finance transformation business process reengineering or operating model design for Federal clients.
Experience performing or supporting internal control assessments or related risk and control activities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word PowerPoint Excel and the Google Productivity Suite to create presentations communications and to manipulate and analyze large datasets create and iterate formulas and use PivotTables.
Ability to evaluate data discrepancies apply sound judgment against Federal or Departmental guidance and communicate findings clearly to clients and external stakeholders.
Professional judgment and written communication skills to manage updates outreach and technical assistance through a government group inbox.
Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to clearly present findings and recommendations.
This hybrid position role may require up to 2-5 days on-site at the clients or Guidehouse office.
Candidates must reside within 50 miles of DC metro area.
What Would Be Nice To Have:
Active relevant certifications (for example CGFM PMP CFA or other financial management audit or project management credentials) or progress towards one of these certifications.
Experience supporting federal financial transformations like Government Invoicing (G-Invoicing) platform or DATA Act initiatives.
Experience with Federal reimbursable agreements and interagency agreements including formulation execution and reconciliation.
Hands on experience with Federal financial systems (for example core financial systems grants management systems or procurement systems).
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced consulting environment manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
General understanding of Power Platform or Google-equivalent automation logic with the ability to translate requirements between clients and technical developers.
Experience providing oversight or coordination support to peer consultants senior consultants or joint venture partner staff.
Proficiency in Google Workspace Suite.
