Role Overview
As the Senior Commission Manager you will serve as a key operational leader driving execution calculation integrity and continuous process optimization across Oktas end-to-end sales compensation lifecycle. Supporting a high-growth field organization this role bridges hands-on commission administrationvalidations payment submissions dispute resolution and operational modernizationwith advanced reporting enterprise analytics and AI-driven process automation.
With a sharp focus on execution data and incentive design governance process engineering and emerging AI tools you will eliminate manual bottlenecks build scalable reporting infrastructure and guarantee 100% payout accuracy within tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
Commission Execution & Calculation Integrity
- Oversee the monthly commission calculation and payout lifecycle for global sellers actively streamlining and operationalizing processes to maintain near-zero error margins.
- Operationalize data reconciliations between upstream source systems (CRM and Workday) and Xactly Incent optimizing workflows to safeguard data integrity maintain accurate crediting rules and ensure calculation accuracy.
Process Engineering Automation & AI
- Map core commission workflows to eliminate friction slash monthly close processing times and eliminate manual data manipulation.
- Identify and deploy automation tools custom scripts AI-driven efficiencies to streamline commission validations accruals payment submissions and reporting.
Cross-Functional Partnership & Governance
- Drive alignment across GTM Strategy Sales Operations Finance and IT on process improvement priorities and shared initiatives and/or projects.
- Lead change management for new tools processes and operating models ensuring adoption is fast smooth and well-supported.
Reporting & High-Impact Analytics
- Build and maintain scalable operational frameworks seller performance dashboards and executive reporting in BI tools (e.g. Tableau).
- Monitor payout-to-revenue ratios quota attainment distributions error rates and operational SLA performance.
Governance & SOX Compliance
- Maintain audit-ready control documentation and management review controls across the end-to-end commission processes.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external audit engagements.
Team Leadership & Escalation Management
- Manage mentor and inspire a high-performing global commission operations team.
- Act as the primary escalation point for complex rep inquiry resolutions and payment adjustments.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
- Core Experience: 8 years of progressive experience in sales compensation operations incentive compensation management (ICM) or revenue operations with a strong emphasis on execution analytics and system optimization.
- Scale & Precision: Proven success running commission processing for mid-to-large enterprise sales organizations (700 reps) under tight close deadlines.
- Technical Stack Mastery: Deep hands-on experience with enterprise ICM platforms (e.g. Xactly) CRM platforms (Salesforce) SQL BI tools (Tableau Power BI) and advanced Excel proficiency.
- Cross-Functional Influence: Demonstrated success collaborating with GTM Strategy Sales Operations Accounting FP&A and Legal on exception workflows and financial compliance.
- Education: Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Business Administration Systems or equivalent practical experience.

The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay area is between:
$162000 - $222000 USD
Below is the annual base salary range for candidates located in California (excluding San Francisco Bay Area) Colorado Illinois New York and Washington. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills qualifications experience and work addition Okta offers equity (where applicable) bonus and benefits including health dental and vision insurance 401(k) flexible spending account and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies.
