The Opportunity
The Senior China Engagement Manager plays a pivotal role in advancing Monash Universitys strategic engagement with China. As a trusted adviser and key relationship manager you will drive high-impact partnerships provide expert guidance on engagement with China and support the successful delivery of research and education initiatives. This role will strengthen existing collaborations identify emerging strategic opportunities and help shape Monashs long-term engagement with one of its most important international partners.
This position will be responsible for coordinating and implementing Monashs strategic engagement with China while fostering strong relationships with senior stakeholders partner institutions and government representatives. You will represent the University in strategic partnerships and key engagement activities identify and assess new opportunities and develop proposals that support whole-of-University priorities. Working closely with faculties and research centres you will help translate partnership agreements into meaningful outcomes for researchers and students. The role also leads environmental scanning and analysis of higher education developments provides expert advice on cultural practices and protocol supports high-level delegation visits and delivers evidence-based recommendations to inform strategic decision-making and strengthen Monashs global engagement.
To be successful in this role you will have extensive experience in strategic engagement with China as well as a proven ability to develop and deliver strategic initiatives build influential stakeholder relationships and manage complex projects with confidence. Your strengths will include exceptional research analytical and written communication skills sound knowledge of the Australian and international higher education landscape and the initiative to navigate emerging opportunities. Proficiency in spoken and written Chinese is essential along with outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across diverse environments.
