Do you have a desire to help the worlds best Naval fleet Are you interested in a dynamic work environment while learning how the steam and reactor plants operate A position as a Senior Chemist and Chemical Engineer in the Steam Plant Chemistry team is for you! This position is for a fleet support engineer to support steam plant chemistry and cleanliness issues across the entire nuclear fleet. Applicants are welcome at either the NY or PA sites.
In this role you will:
Solve problems associated with chemistry and cleanliness control in Naval nuclear steam plants.
Perform trials tests and/or experiments to support engineering production and/or R&D activities.
Collect analyze and interpret data from various sources such as experiments and studies.
Develop technically and economically sound recommendations and prepare comprehensive documented observations analyses and interpretations of results and establish operating equipment specifications.
Develop and recommend new processes and technologies to achieve cost effectiveness and improved product quality.
Coordinate and manage all aspects of small and large projects which require interfacing with various NNL and external organizations.
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills to evaluate data to draw conclusions about chemistry trends and to multi-task within a fast-paced environment supporting the Navy.

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion LLC (FMP) a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation. FMP employees also have an established presence at numerous shipyards and vendor locations.
