Senior Box Developer, Contractual

The Maryland InsuranceAdministration (MIA) is an independent State agency that regulates Marylands$46 billion insurance industry and protects consumers by monitoring andenforcing insurers and insurance professionals compliance with Statelaw. Through the diligence of a highly professional staff of marketanalysts financial analysts accountants lawyers law enforcement officersactuaries complaint investigators and others the MIA works to facilitate astrong and competitive insurance marketplace where consumers are well informedand treated fairly. Staff members are subject matter experts who serve asa resource for lawmakers consumers and other public and privateentities.

The MIA is charged with abroad range of responsibilities including the licensure of insurance carriersand insurance producers (brokers/agents) operating in Maryland the conduct offinancial examinations of companies to monitor financial solvency and thereview and approval of rates and contract forms. The MIA investigates reportsof consumer fraud and consumer complaints about life health automobilehomeowners and/or property insurance. Insurance carriers are subject tomarket conduct examinations and other actions to monitor compliance withMaryland law. The MIA also has a unit dedicated to consumer education andoutreach which participates in hundreds of events and reaches thousands ofindividual consumers annually.

The Maryland Insurance Administration is seeking a talented andsolution-oriented contractual Senior Box Document Management System (DMS) Developerwith specialized expertise in Salesforce integrations. This position willarchitect develop and maintain the agencys enterprise content managementstrategy focusing on seamlessly embedding Boxs robust document capabilitiesdirectly into our Salesforce ecosystem. Theideal candidate will bridge the gap between cloud content management and CRMensuring our users have secure efficient and automated access to criticaldocuments exactly when and where they need them.

Key responsibilities include:

Integration Development: Design develop and maintain secure scalableintegrations between Box and Salesforce using the Box Salesforce Integrationtoolkit Box APIs (REST) Apex Lightning Web Components (LWC) and middlewareif applicable.

Box Workspace Architecture: Structure and automate Box foldertaxonomies metadata templates and retention policies triggered by Salesforcerecord lifecycles (e.g. automatically creating a secure Box folder when anOpportunity reaches a specific stage).

Security & Compliance Configuration: Implement and enforce robustsecurity models ensuring precise permission mapping OAuth authentication anddata privacy boundaries between Salesforce users and Box folders.

Custom Customization & Automation: Build custom UI componentswithin Salesforce using Box UI Elements (Content Explorer Content Picker) todeliver seamless user experience. Leverage Box Webhooks and Salesforce Flows toautomate document workflows.

Optimization & Troubleshooting: Monitor integration performancetroubleshoot API bottlenecks resolve sync errors and manage governance limitsacross both platforms.

Technical Documentation: Maintain comprehensive technicaldocumentation including data flow diagrams API architecture maps anddeployment guides.

Experience: Seven years of experience designing developingtesting implementing and maintaining application communication database oroperating systems software.

Candidates may substitute graduation from an accredited high school orpossession of a high school equivalency certificate and oneyear of experience designing developing testing implementing and maintainingapplication communication database or operating systems software for fouryears of the required experience.

3. Candidates may substitute experience operating computer systems;or scheduling controlling input and output to process data on computersystems; or evaluating implementing and maintaining computer hardware andsoftware; or converting data from project specifications by developing programcode using generally accepted computer programming languages on a year-for-yearbasis for a high school education.

4. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelors degree froman accredited college or university in Computer Science Computer InformationTechnology Management Information Systems or other informationtechnology-related field to include coursework in application communicationdatabase or operating systems software technology and threeyears of experience designing developing testing implementing andmaintaining application communication database or operating systems softwarefor the required experience.

5. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military serviceexperience as a commissioned officer in the Computer Systems Operationsclassifications or Computer Systems Operations specialty codes in theInformation Technology field of work on a year-for-year basis for the requiredexperience.

Possession of any of the following certifications:

• Box Certified Professional (BCP) or Box Certified Developer
• Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I (PD1)
• Salesforce Certified Administrator

Contractual employees whowork for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health andWelfare Benefits Program have a current employment contract and work 30 ormore hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidizedhealth benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents. As a contractualemployee you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for yourmedical and prescription coverage including any eligible dependents you haveenrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the costfor these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage accidentaldeath and dismemberment insurance and life insurance but will be responsibleto pay the full premium for these benefits.

Leave may be granted to acontractual employee who has worked 120 days in a 12 month period. This leaveaccrues at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked not to exceed 40 hoursper calendar year.
